Jack's doing the right thing Alex is jumping from job to job asking for handouts

Friggin agree. Look, I get that you don't agree with your dads priorities and his ideas of fairness, and that sucks. But if you dropped out of college not for financial or emergency reasons, and there aren't any emergency obligations and assistance you require, you don't get to dictate where your dad spends his money. It's HIS Money. You are not entitled to it.

I feel the same way! If Alex hasn’t shown any commitment or stability, why should Jack be expected to cover for him
@headofchaos2982 ай бұрын
Soo your idea is to help the one who don't need help, and leave the one who's struggling to fend for him self?? and if you took the role of a father, don't help one child and leave the other, and yes Jack owe Alex everything because he's the father now, and helping one child and leaving the other is not a parents thing to do, even teachers are not allowed to do that with students.

@@headofchaos298did you watch the video?? He has clearly helped him throughout his indecisiveness. Alex is in the wrong expecting the EXACT support without any effort like Noah
@headofchaos2982 ай бұрын
@@tammythrillz I did watch, and clearly you don't know how kids react to their parent giving something as important as 500K to one and leave the other, no matter how much you helped them both or took care of them, IF your son is not a drug addict or something similar to that you should always help them don't support one and leave the other thinking your helping the good one or the smart one or what ever, and you saying without any effort is something a parent should never say to his kids when clearly they're trying their best, he's working even though he's changing jobs and doing his best to find what he likes, I know he's not like Noah who already knew what he's goals are but you need him to be something probably not meant or will never be, so just help them and leave the rest to them because in the end no one will put the blame on you for not supporting. And your kids are not companies you invest only in the successful one.

It's pure and simple jealousy. The brother is responsible and stable whereas Alex seems to be the prodigal son. The s.dad has every right to give away his money to anybody and it's disgusting how Alex forced his hand. I bet he won't get another dime when s.dad dies.

Dude should have just gone no contact. No amount of money is worth what he did. I understand he wanted to feel equal and respected but in families equality is rare. It has never been equal in my family or other families I know. There are always a favorite. And the truth is is stepdad did not owe him a dime.

He sounds insufferable my goodness!!! Even if Jack was his biological father he's not entitled to HIS money. They gave him a realistic goal and he's upset? Talking about fairness Jack giving him that $500k would be unfair to Noah seeing how hard he had worked for it, this whole thing is a mess.

Let me be clear as a Terrence. It is my money and yes, I decide where I invested no question asked my money and no, you don’t deserve it. Just because you are my child if your choices don’t line up with what I want to invest in absolutely correct that I will not invest in it and if you feel sad about that is not my problem. It is my money.

It’s not control!!! oh he didn’t make the money. Oh, he didn’t work for the money, but he wants in on it.??? You don’t need to draft a letter that you just have to put your boots on get to work and prove that you have earned it. If you don’t prove that, why are you drafting a letter? Sounds like another flaky decision from somebody who is flaky and plans on staying that way….

Alex the reason that Jack support Noah is cause Noah is Jack son that Jack had an affair with your mom and that caused your dad leave that's why Jack is all there for Noah and not you. You should just look out for yourself don't worry about Noah or Jack you just think about yourself and you should just live your best life every and go no contact with Noah or Jack.

@DCD7623 ай бұрын
Why has jack to fix the problem OP has been hopping from job to job, quit college without any apparent reason, been living life in easy mode He has 0 reasons to go NC First of he is their stepdad, has no obligation to either, second he has the right to decide which to help Your comment shows that you support entitlement

OP came across like a low end beta! First step in OP fixing the perceived unfairness was to convince jack he had insulted a high in Alpha and had wrecked the family!

I do not think Op's stepfather has any responsibility to Op. You should not expect anything this big from his stepfather. Whatever help he gives should be enough. If he gives something to his brother that's his choice.

There are several threads that I think need explaining more..... 1. Did Jack's mum have an affair? 2. Even though they are brothers, why is favouritism shown as tge jobs aren't told, or if the kids had different ideas when at school/ college and Jack wasn't encouraged to follow his passions? 3. Why didn't Jack at least attempt to reach out to his dad

I’m sorry, but, you even said you were rebellious and didn’t get good grades, dropped out of college, haven’t had a stable job, yet you feel you deserve a 500k house. Why should bad choices get good rewards. Get your life straight and when he sees your stable, then yeah ask for it. Yet your brother got good grades, stayed out of trouble, got a degree and stable job. He should be rewarded. If I bought you a 500k house, I’d be afraid you lose it to stupidity.

Ummm, I'm only 10 minutes into this video, and unless the narrative changes, you seem to have been listening to a different video. OP was bailed out several times, by his own admission. The step-dad is sick of throwing good money after bad at OP'S poor decisions. Step-dad rightly sees OP as a bad investment. Although he is still willing to continue to help out OP, he is unwilling to throw away $500K all at once on him.
