I thought Brewer was fired after the finale due to screwing up the timing of the final stop, allowing Alan to get the important bonus points.

Wrong completely. Brewer got a phone call later that night to remove some of the crew from the plane. Now these people Junior wanted on the plane had nothing to do with racing. Just fun look up Tim interview. Tim had the crew fly all back. It was Bill Elliott who paid for. It in the long run. It was weird how Junior let Tim go. All over a plane ride

yes but they are still building engines so its not like the whole organization went away
Had not Spingate happened, we could’ve seen MWR win more and even championships but then again we won’t able to see that dominant 2017 season of Martin Truex Jr.

Junior Johnson’s downward spiral actually started because in ‘92 Junior got caught “with his pants down” (figuratively speaking) with one of those beautiful female Budweiser models. His wife filed for divorce and ended up taking a chunk of his team’s monetary funding. In addition, Junior’s was one of the “older” teams that did not adapt to a new age of NASCAR owners that brought newer technology and bigger money to the sport. For example, the Budweiser sponsorship at its peak was $150,000 for Bill Elliott as driver in 92 while Tide sponsorship for Rick Hendrick the same year was $500,000

Brett Bodine didnt leave JJ and Associates, he bought the team, and Lowes stuck with Brett through 96 before heading to RCR Furniture Row was never a start and park organization. They always ran to the distance, barring a mechanical failure or accident
@joaquinfrancissilao9757 ай бұрын
It's still a damn shame that Furniture Row Racing shut down. All because Joe Gibbs and/or Toyota had to raise the costs of their technical alliance. And then there's Leavine Family Racing. We all know what happened to them next. Legacy Motor Club could be next. Why does a major team like JGR make their customer teams cough up more money than they should? Cannot believe that NASCAR allowed this to happen. There should be a rule in place already to prevent such rise in technical alliance costs happening again.

To be honest, other than Kurt Busch and 2018. Was SHR really that good outside of Harvick and Tony Stewart pre 2013? Newman got 4 wins, Bowyer got 2, Almirola got 2, Briscoe has 1, Custer got 1. The rest of SHR wins are Kurt Busch (6) Tony Stewart (16) and Kevin Harvick (37)
@TimberWolfer637 ай бұрын
I feel like another reason SHR faultered was because they kept losing their top quality drivers and were never able to get it right when finding replacements. Kurt Busch, Clint Bowyer, Aric Almirola, and especially Kevin Harvick. The current roster is being led by a rookie who can only be considered the leader because he's older than his teammates. But here's an idea for a future video: Professional athletes from other sports investing into NASCAR, by that I mean starting a team. There's actually some quite fascinating ones throughout history

Tim was fired 3 days after the end of the season. Jr had a young girlfriend and built her a massive home just down the rd from his old place.They married and had a son . Jr sold the team to Brett Bodine and was no part of it. Barney Visser the owner of the 78 had a heart attack during the play off run . Furniture row and Denver mattress was his own business's and he said he wasn't spending his own money again racing . Both Jr and Barney left on their own terms. They did not implode.
