Getting rid of of racing back to the line was actually a good thing because safety reasons

It’s kinda insane to think about in retrospect

Exactly. For example when we had that massive wreck at Dega last season, if we had the race bsck to the line rule, who else couldve been hit if the wreck happened in the middle of the pack and someone from the rear slams into a wrecked car and injured said wrecked driver

Maybe at short tracks... Superspeedways and mile and a halfs it looks kinda dumb

If you think about it, the Lower Series rule changes were really because of Kevin Harvick. He wasn’t scheduled to run full time in the 2001 Cup Series, and instead to run full time in the Xfinity Series He ran both full time, and benefitted from it, leading more drivers to do it, which led to the rule we have today

So crazy to think that nearly half of Newman’s wins happened in 2003!

It's crazy that they can change all of these rules and still have a negative effect.

They weren’t the only ones, but I’m sure Kevin Harvick and Rodney Childers getting multiple encumbered wins in 2018 was a big factor in nascar bringing back post race disqualifications

Jamie McMurray actually lead to the top 12 and wild card rule. (The top 10 drivers on points and two with the most wins not inside the top 10).

Also about the DVP, Kenseth ended up missing the Final 4 in his final season because of the DVP

The chase format was fine they just needed to give more points for wins and rotate tracks

In 2025, NASCAR made a rule for those with nonmedical waivers (suspensions or attending another race) to lose all their playoff points like race wins and stage wins. For example, Kyle Larson attempting the Memorial double last year in which he need Justin Allgaier to run the 5 car.

was it AJ Foyt who ran out of Provisionals so he just renumbered his car?

Crazy that Newman nearly became the first cup champion to win the championship with his only win of the season being the final race. If I remember right, if the race ended something like 5-10 laps earlier, Happy would be zero time champion and Newman would have one and one win in 2014. I’m a Newman fan and would have loved it for that one reason. But as a NASCAR fan that would have been terrible for the sport. But don’t worry we’ve have many other far worse things happen since.

Pit road speed limit, the Ricky Rudd Rule. Pit crews have to wear helmets over the pit all, the Ward Burton and Casey Atwood Rule. Drivers can't walk onto the racetrack to show your displeasure to someone, the Tony Stewart Rule. I don't think Hank would've like these rule changes. He still calls the Cup Series name the Winston Cup.

As a diehard kenseth fan I take pride in blaming Kenseth for the chase because it means he kicked so much ass they had to change the system 😂

@lemonjuicegaming65515 күн бұрын
Yea, I agree. NASCAR should have just gave more points for winning a race. That way drivers were encouraged to push the limits. But instead, we have this crappy playoff format that manufactures drama.

Some of these rule changes are good they made the sport more safer like the restrictor plate or racing back to the did the line because the sport that we love more safer well order rules just seem stupid like the playoffs and the double yellow line and also the damage vehicle policy that doesn't exist anymore I know is that probably did not even heard about like the past champion professional like I have no idea what is that and maybe the green white checkers because they also seen as dumb system because well is an unnecessary rule to have a specialist super speedways but again some of these changes are the same for the better or for the worse sometimes they seem good sometimes they or stupid and don't make sense but some of these rules are still dumb
