The effects are good but battle traps are useless since most competetive decks can get rid of them before even entering the battle phase. They need to start making new battle traps that has strong floating effects to even be played.

Think basically waking the dragon but if it doesnt float then you get to use the battle protection. That is the only way now for battle traps to be useful.

I think battle trap is still useful if the archetype that used this, has weird gimmick or just having diversity in playstyle. Like D/D/D and Rokket can access different extra deck monsters from fusion to link. Dark Magician has balance between monster, spell and trap. Gravekeeper has lot of lockdown cards like necrovalley, hidden temple of necrovalley and Gravekeeper's shaman. So you play psychological games with your opponent and make them hesitate to attack. Most of the time, battle trap is used in rogue deck like traptrix but interestingly, successful enough to resolve. So it's like mix of control and aggro decks.

the misplay by the magical cylinder player was to activate the one set from hand first. Any yu gi oh player capable of reading would quickly then deduce the one set from deck was still in play and that attacking was not safe. It's a good thing yu gi oh players can't read

My real guess is that he DID know of the two magic cylinders but he thought he could face tank the damage and remove the threats on board, howEVER he didn't read cylinder revolver properly, thinking it's only a retriever for magic cylinder and not a boost. You have no cards in hand, so if he kept pressure on board he could've smothered you. That's what I think

Their opponent look dumb, but maybe he was not dumb, because loseing without a surrender will count is daily mission, and life time mission, in the daily mission and life time mission, you get reward depending on how many times you normal summoned, other reward for how many time you special summoned, how many time you activate spell is a diffrent reward and so on, if he was able to do does thing before an easy lose, they will be counted for does reward, however if he was able to do does thing, and surrender, then it will not count for does mission. They are situation where it is better to surrender, since your unable to play any card, because your opponent will win on first turn, since you would be unable to make the daily mission and life time mission regardless.
