@Michael Merriam no Roms are legal...but only under certain parameters. you have to backup the games you own yourself. You also can’t distribute the roms. Most people don’t backup their own roms(which is piracy and illegal, as you didn’t obtain the copy from the physical game you own). Some people also distribute roms which also illegal (and those people get sued by Nintendo).

Emulators aren't illegal... It's the games and bios that are their concern. SomeOrdinaryGamers spoke on the issue, and referenced Sony Vs Bleem! emulator. Nintendo just doesn't trust any of it, which is their right as a business to stop anyone profiting from Nintendo content without their permission. Still, Nintendo wronged a whole lot of people now because of these sudden course of action.

Always whining about being the most important thing there is while ignoring the terrible crap that goes on its community. All games are destined to fade but Melee is beating a dead horse that has long since been grinded to dust.
