Salut Dylane: this time in English. This was very helpful. I already asked my female french friend (fff) to explain this to me. She couldn't or she wouldn't. But now I know. Merci et à bientôt ••• Martin

Hi dear Dylane, in the sentence - She is looking for an apartment with a balcony - the article ‘a’ is used in English. Funny how we use it in English here, and don’t use it in French. Usually it’s the other way round I guess? Your lessons are amazing as usual! 🎉😊

I remember writing the book and finding it funny that there was no article in French but an article in English 🤣

is "sous la pluie" an exception for the third rule, or are there other instances of articles used after "sous"?
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Жыл бұрын
Sous la pluie - Sous la douche, both take an article :)

Bonjour madame, I have a question. What about before the names of cities? Based on the French texts I have read so far there are no articles before city names, only prepositions. I'm quite confused, not even sure how to know the gender of a city.
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane7 ай бұрын
Cities are always feminine but we never have an article in front, often a preposition instead. J'habite à Paris.

When saying “I am an aunt” or “I am a mother” do you include the article? Is it je suis tante or je suis une tante? Does this follow the same rule as professions or no? Merci!
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane3 жыл бұрын
Je suis une tante, une mère, but: je suis mère au foyer. Family titles take an article, but not stay home mom, stay home dad ;)
