hmm Mary does seem nice and a very loving sister, but a few of her answers do sound a bit tit for tat and spiteful toward Hutton. I'm sure there's a documentary when someone, maybe Guigs himself stated he had a quick temper- retaliating, hittin people for not much. But I understand, he had it tough. I guess without hearing it from Guigsy himself, I can't believe too much from others. Mary is obviously biased and protective of him, while Chris etc. may have had a slight vendetta, maybe slightly bitter and may actually have spoken some truth.

I went to Burnage High School with Chris Hutton and McGuigan , same year and many same classes. I was also at the very first Rain gig in the Milestone and pretty much all of their gigs and the first few Oasis gigs including first Liam Gig and first Noel gig. I can tell you now Mary is talking complete bollocks! Chris Hutton's account is pretty much what happened. So many lies coming out of Mary's mouth. The Burnage 17 were all white and called the 'Chip Barm Boys' Paul did not witness the stabbing! it happened at the lower school when we were all in the upper school (separate site) The thatcherite bit is also correct, Mary is a staunch leftie driving todays agenda - it was different times then no matter what she thinks. Chris Hutton also started the band and not Paul.

When you saw the first gig with both Liam and Noel did you think they were good? I know that might sound like a silly question because hindsight is a wonderful thing, but when I first heard them (I didn't know what they looked like at the time) I knew they'd be big, I think it was "married with children" but I never thought they'd become as big as they became, like a 90s Beatles. Also what was Liam like, was he always like he is now?
@jameshughes5997 Жыл бұрын
@@Beatlestories as I remember, Liams first gig on own was awful, many have said it but he basically just did an Ian Brown impression, don’t remember any of the songs but they were very loud. When Noel started, Liam stopped with the dancing around and was more like we know, I remember the songs being a bit different but nothing stood out - only a short set and I remember them doing a couple of acoustic numbers and I thought that "what’s this, why they trying to be all professional' i do remember them supporting some band called Popcorn Groove and then a couple of months later they headlined (Boardwalk) But no ! at no point did I think they would get anywhere, I also thought that being from Manchester would hold them back as it was post Madchester when NME and MM had basically done a complete turn around and slagged off any band with any connection to Manchester.

I went to school with Paul (we never called him Guigsy back then) our first group of friends were mainly black, however when we moved to the Upper School racial divisions became more defined. Myself and Paul, used to hang around with mainly fellow lads from Levenshulme and Longsight. Chris was from Burnage and was originally my mate from Acacias School in Burnage. Me, Paul and Chris would go to watch Lancashire Cricket, but never to the football, as me and Paul were City fans and Chris was United. I have many more factual stories to tell, including being in a band Called Reluctance who played with The Rain at Times Square.

Just like there’s more than one source saying bonehead was a smashing guy which is probably true also. Personally I think Guigs was probably not a very nice fella back in the day to certain people and I think this is why since leaving the band he has pretty much gone into hiding. He’s probably a bit embarrassed and maybe a bit guilty becauss of it. We all grow up. Also your sister is always going to stick up for you regardless. Theyd have made a few million each id guess, depends on your lifestyle i guess.

Alan White is definitely living good, he was there for Morning Glory, Be Here Now, SOTSOG, and Heathen Chemistry. Bonehead could definitely live a comfortable life, but he's a guitarist for Liam Gallagher now.

I’d believe Mary over Tony and a random guy named Chris whose looking for his 15 mins any day. Tony’s still (and understandably so) very sour about getting kicked out of the band. And Chris is someone, no one would know if it wasn’t for 2 separate people he never met, hmm 🤔

No need for Mary to be so rude about Tony...uncalled for.
