We need a part 2 where the online player brings the markers for move analysis, imagine marking your move as a "brilliant move" right in front of your opponent, or marking the opponent move as a blunder in front of their face. I would also like to hear the checkmate sound too if you make a part 2 with more memes.
@Adri95702 жыл бұрын
Also another kind of parody could be done: *_Real life with online chess mechanics_* - You do something wrong and a blunder alert appears. - You try resolve a problem and suddenly everything goes back in time to the point where you were deciding what to do because all was just a premove. - Your computer or bank account gets hacked and the check sound can be heard. - Your boss promotes you and you become a queen. - If someone fights you, you only can move forward and only hit when your opponent is close to you at your front diagonals (parody of the pawn attack).

Something like that actually happened during OTB tournament. Not with markers on the board, but one of my opponents used this annotation symbols in his scoresheet. So when he played black against me, his scoresheet looked like this: ... 37. Rxe3? Rxe3! 38. Rf7? Rh3!! 39. Rxb7? Kxd4!! 40. Rd7+?? Ke3! 41. Rd6? Rh2+!! 42. Kc3? Ra2! ... 1/2 - 1/2

You learn a lot more in person too I imagine. My mum tought me chess when I was 4 and it‘s just much more engaging. When playing fast you can legit freak some people out and if you don‘t train your poker face it can get really messy sometimes. Also observing where your opponent looks can give you hints on what they‘re up to

From experience, it's the opposite for me, I used to play OTB all the time, but then because of the pandemic I have to play using online chess and I literally blunder a lot, I just couldn't pay attention to the board. For some reason, I managed to beat some people that are 1700 over the board but lose to 800 when playing online, Most of the club members are so confuse when I'm actually way stronger than they think when we decided to meet in person
@johnwalker10582 жыл бұрын

I remember when I went to my first chess tournament and it wasn't even rated and there were no awards or anything (the award for the first place was a $10 voucher for orders in the bar the tournament took place in) so you had all types of players from completely rookies to some decent yet still amateurs. I remember playing with a young dude about 20 years old and when I castled he was like "oh shit, that's the move I haven't heard of yet" lol. I knew I should win that game and I did in next 10 moves.
