This reminds me of a story my sister told me when she lived down in Georgia, USA. A couple who were pastors of a church were also landlords of rundown properties where they neglected to spend on necessary repairs while living lavishly in a mansion and driving a Cadillac with a decal on the rear window reading... "Bountifully Blessed." Sure, while these hypocrites preach others to live humbly, they live it up gluttonously. Hence, these stories don't surprise me whether their sins are greed, murder or anything else in between.

The pastor of my church has been there 32 years and accepts $0.00 for his service (Sunday & Wednesday Service, Sunday School). It's a tiny church but it's by far one of the best. I've been to a few other Churches where it was clear the only God they praise was the Almighty dollar.

I was hoping he was going to include Aubrey Lee Price on here. He used to be the preacher at the Baptist church here in my small town (less than 500 people at that point). He and his wife came from GA to the town in SC with their young son. Our church was tiny and they grew it by leaps and bounds. We even had to have two services! He was good with the youth. We went on a ski trip, etc. A few years later, they decided to go back to their hometown in GA. They had several kids and couldn't make ends meet on a preacher's salary. This was in the mid 90s. Years later, I heard through some friends that he'd committed suicide after getting caught running a ponzi scheme. But come to find out, he'd faked his death. He and his wife had 6 kids (I think) and one was disabled. He left his wife, who'd never worked, to deal with taking care of the kids, house, etc. She had no idea about his other life. This was in 2012. After they found him, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He swindled people out of MILLIONS! It's crazy to see how he'd changed. I had always thought that if anyone was going to heaven, it was Lee Price. He was the "model Christian" when I knew him as a teenager. I guess the saying "oh how the mighty has fallen" is true. The pastor Kong Hee and some key church members misused SGD50M of the Church funds to promote her wife, Sun Ho, to become a US music artist in a project known as Crossover, I think, to spread Christianity. Tiltilating MTVs were made with many gyrating hot women. One of the MTV is titled China Wine. The funds were also used in the subsequent cover ups. All involved except the wife, had been sentenced and served time, albeit a slap on the wrist in the eyes of many. I believe the wife is also a pastor.

I’m a Christian Minister and have spent my life giving to and helping others, as well as obeying both, the laws of God and the laws of the land. No one is perfect (except Jesus) but we have to do our best and “walk the talk”, practice what we preach even when no one but God is watching, because He always is. Those monsters are the “wolves in sheep’s clothing” that the Lord warned us about, and horribly, in 2021, I’d have to say that THE MAJORITY of those serving as Pastors (and also priests) are psychopaths who have sought to be ministry leaders to take advantage of the vulnerable with impunity. I’d estimate that 80% of those who are ministry leaders are: dangerous sociopaths, con men, money-grubbing hypocrites, “actors”, licentious perverts, violent criminals, and mentally ill weirdos. In the 90’s when I was ordained, I’d estimate that number to have been around 30%, but in recent years it has blown up to 80% or more. And this will have, and is having, devastating consequences throughout the world as onlookers judge the Gospel itself (which they shouldn’t but do) by their horrid examples because that is what is most visible and prominent, even though it’s fake, like a cult.

@@sassykaren7587 I was up North in Massachusetts. I have a couple friends who went the whole distance North to South and they had some amazing stories to tell. Not just about the trail but also about people met along the way and the little towns that the trail goes through where you can restock for your next leg. It took them around 6 months. I remember seeing a story about an older woman who decided to go on the trail alone for a week, she ended up disappearing. Never go off the trails, be prepared for wild animals, accidents and all manner of other adventures good and bad.
