I was teased about my nose all through my childhood, it was too adult for my face as a child, I was horribly shy and miserable...many years later, I grew into my odd looks and a more diverse idea of beauty was starting to be more common. I had wanted a nose job for years and years, but could not afford it, and my husband was very, very against it. He insisted that he loved my look and changing it would be a huge mistake. He was extremely insistent, which he never was about anything I even wanted to do, and he ended up being right, since I started modeling in my 30s and did a lot of artist modeling work as well, my looks finally finding a home with people who looked at people individually, not as carbon copies of what is "in" at that moment. I was so affected by the difference in attitudes, that I really love art history now, and took up painting myself. I'm so happy I stayed with my original face! I feel nervous that I almost made a huge, expensive mistake just because a few people couldn't recognize that I was unique, but not "ugly". I hope others will wait and think hard about who they want surgery for, themselves, or people they don't even really know...

Good question. 'Surgeons had to remove five or six ribs....' No, surgeons didn't HAVE to. WW2 New Zealander, Archie McIndoe was the most famous plastic surgeon in UK and developed new strategies for a lot of terrible facial and hand burns of pilots in the air forces. He also developed a psychology for lessening depression, in the lads. The air crew needing surgical help went on to form the Guinea Pig Club. Harold Gillies was another extraordinary surgeon working on burns and appalling injuries in WW1 and WW2. He was also one of the earliest sex reassignment surgeons. In 1946, he did an early female to male and in 1951, he operated on a male ex Spitfire pilot, to change him from male to female.

He apparently wasn’t concerned with his appearance. He had issues with below the belt. That’s a surgery even most plastic surgeons won’t do bc it’s tricky. There are some who will inject fillers, like what this woman claimed to be doing, but they don’t last. Real implant surgeries are both painful and tricky and no promises it will work or have any feeling after the fact. Only way I’d see where it was okay for someone to take that chance is if they had a micropenis. It’s a real thing btw. We’re talking less than an inch at it’s biggest. Personally if I feel like my self image is ugly, I try to ignore it and let people make fun of my face like it's a joke. These women get surgery to make themselves feel better, even though everyone around them may think they look like plastic figures that have been thrown down the stairs too many times, they feel happier within themselves. As long as they are doing something that makes them happy I have no problem. Now in these situations where they don't go to licensed practices are totally different. People need to do some digging to make sure they are going to a professionally licensed clinic before they make such huge choices that will affect their bodies for life.

Somewhere in between this vid' and your suggestion...is anyone else convinced that some of these older ppl, like Queen Elizabeth, Cher, etc, are getting frequent blood transfusions from much younger ppl? Young blood is full of human growth hormone, and no doubt many other 'rejuvenators'. Investigation needed!

@@mikeyfn-a6684 I understand that aspect. People have a deformity that certain surgeries can improve their lives, people being in accidents and needing surgeries to rectify certain body parts for eg skin graft etc after being burned. I have no issues with that. The issue for me is simply being healthy and normal and deciding to take those surgeries because you want to look a certain way being you are self obsessed.

It shocks me that these people are so privileged as to have as much money as they do to spend on countless procedures. That money could go towards so many better things, yet all they do with it is deform themselves. Body dysmorphia, attention and wealth are a bad combination.

The thing that links all plastic surgery addicts is that they all look absolutely terrible and almost alien like in appearance. To make it even more heart breaking is seeing how much better these people looked before they got this Frankenstein like surgery done. I know that some probably suffer with body dysmorphia but surely most can see that they look worse with each operation. Even really expensive clinics seem to do horrendous work so price is certainly no guarantee of quality.

They need to start holding actual doctors accountable for performing excessive surgeries on patients across the board to help cut down on this out of control habit
@LuShanna2 жыл бұрын
I think part of the problem is that these people will generally go through countless doctors who tell them no in order to get that one yes to get it done and the cycle continues.
@jessemersier54992 жыл бұрын
@@LuShanna I agree. But the flip side of that is when is enough money enough? Good judgment on their part over greed by refusing to provide services for a non life threatening surgery for an individual who has obviously had an already excessive amount of surgeries should be required to be factored in to their descion making process. Some of these people have an addiction and obviously more money than sense. They won't stop so the doctors should try to do their part to stop them.
