👉 In this eye-opening video, Teal Swan exposes the dark side of positivity in parenting. While positivity is often seen as desirable, "positivity parents" can inflict severe damage by using it to avoid painful realities. By creating a fantasy "overlay reality," they emotionally abandon and gaslight their children. The child is left alone in pain, unable to get their emotional needs met.
This can lead to major problems like self-harm, addiction and suicidality. Teal shares a poignant example illustrating how toxic positivity parenting plays out, with devastating impacts on the child. A must-watch for anyone who wants to understand this crucial yet under-recognized parenting pitfall.

Teal Swan never said she knows everything, that she is God, she is a human being like the rest of us. She never claimed to be perfect or better than anyone. She has positive and negative traits,archetypes and shadows. She is a person like most of us, and off course we dont give our energy away for free. This is her work,and she is dang good at it,we all get money for the work we do! I know a narc when I see one,I got a pretty good radar for that. She is not a narc or a psychopat. She has the right to be angry,hurt and everything just like others. Cudos to Teal for putting so much effort and energy to spread and share all the wisdom she has. Did you guys know that ALL lightworkers became that,because we were traumatised as kids. Yup thats a fact. Another fact: Nobody does as much shadow work as us! RESPECT!

Watching this captivating video stirs up painful memories of the recent end of my 4 year relationship. My beloved partner chose to depart, leaving me with an unyielding ache. Thank you for pointing it out ❤🙏🏼. Not being able to attune to the needs of a child is a serious stuff. Even worse, to deny their own reality. Some might be using negativity as well, as a coping mechanism. Not being able to see how the child feels is unfortunately too common. When we accept our own pain, it is easier to see and recognise the pain of others.

I see this pattern in many people who come from, as I call it, the "sugar-coated" families. They always have to see some kind of good/sweet/positive side of things and follow the herd that also holds the same mentality. Instead of seeing the apparent flaw in something, they would instead persuade others to be 'positive'. I used to hate these kind of people...maybe I'm still critical of them but atleast I got to understand them. Thanks to you!

I was born into this type of family. My pain was never acknowledge , Luckily pain from real life push me too look at dark side of life. When you are in the state of "always positive" you are always afraid people to judge you if you judge others, all you need is someone to be around you without put pressure too pretend, just other person presence that there is no need for competition who is better human being. Is terrible, because you just want to be accepted, but in your family you were only accepted if you ACT like "everything is super great. Its destroy you from inside out and you left with nothing and alone. + The people who are interesting for are ussually the one who have no morality to abuse your lack of connection you get double down on life. For everyone who find in that situation I recomending you to embrace your hate towards people who hurt you, that will help to destroy unhealthy connections and bring you peace and strength to your soul.

This is my mother. The way she's made me feel growing up and still makes me feel today is like a living hell because I feel so damn isolated, in a parallel reality. I described to my therapist not too long ago that growing up I felt like I was in a river full of crocodiles and that they were eating me alive, while my mother was on the outside of the river looking at me and smiling at me and telling me to look how pretty the sun was today, and the grass and the butterflies. That's how my mother has always made me feel. Thank you so much Teal for making this video, and make us who have lived this reality feel seen and understood. Thank you 💜

Teal is so spot on, except for when she says people, including small, totally helpless children, are CHOOSING to do this or that. If our survival and/or sense of security depends upon our ability to deny reality, we are not making a choice to deny it. I mean, I guess we could choose to die, but that’s very much against our nature, so I wouldn’t say it’s a viable option.

How the hell does isolation cause panic attacks? I’d think the opposite makes wayyyyymore sense
@satdaya
@satdaya 3 ай бұрын
@michaelselz3389 No. Isolation is one of the quickest ways to make a human go crazy. That’s why they use isolation as a form of punishment in prison systems. When a person feels alienated and alone within their family or community they are alone even when they are with other people. They are always isolated. Even a few weeks of isolation can lead to depression, anger, cognitive disruption, paranoia and obsessive thoughts, and psychosis. Prolonged isolation can lead to long term mental health issues. If this person’s body and psyche are always registering that they are alone even when they are surrounded by people, it makes a lot of sense that they would be having panic attacks. Imagine if you were screaming and bleeding out in the middle of a crowd and no one even looked up or acknowledged you dying on the floor in front of them. That’s the experience they are having, that’s what triggers the panic attack.

Avoidant and frightened we are still working on becoming complete after starting this process when we let go because we couldnt work anymore in 2011 - The better it gets, getting ready to be ready, all begins within, mindfulness and patience are now daily practices along with leaarning to listen to all our parts has given us new moments of clarity so we could release old programming. - Now we only have ourselves and we hope to find a life partner who has some patience and can show us they can hold themselves accountable for all their parts as we are now doing. - You can do this brothers and sisters in spirit. - Thank you Teal -

Somehow I could not write a comment under todays video (on toxic positivity) To me the most dangerous toxic positivity people are the insidious, wolves in sheeps clothing people, regarding themselves as highly spiritual but it is all spiritual bypassing which is an incredibly lonely and painful and crazymaking experience, but, you cannot put your finger on it! And yes it comes out as symptoms of mental illness! No wonder antidepressants and therapy never worked. If karma says children chose the parents to incarnate then karma says as well that these gaslit children will burn bridges to a parent if that is in the best interest of their mental health. ✌️

Since my dad was not good with my mom together, abusive alcoholic and unfortunately both were very toxic at that time and further. Seeing him as being more menacing than her... so I went with her, while they both tried to make me take sides; well that did not go well and at 17 I had to sue him for aliment. Best part was, when I was not reaching the false expectations of my mom, I was compared to my father as nice reminder. Sorry for i did not want to bother you with my crap, just wanted to give some examples, that might eventuall help by relating. The best advice I can fathom here; I can forgive but I do not forget, put in perspective there is some understanding for them. And the love for the better parts of them. That’s not always easy if there small. How do we not get squashed (when they were 15 they didn’t have phones & now they think this is we need) there has gotta be physical child necessities with actual consequences if not met because we have to thrive with them & they can all agree on that. - 00:00 ❗ Positivity isn't always beneficial and can be toxic. - 00:15 👨‍👩‍👧 Parental positivity as a coping mechanism can harm children. - 01:17 🛠 Recognizing and using positivity correctly is a valuable skill. - 01:39 🚪 Misused positivity, especially as a coping mechanism, can lead to denial of reality. - 02:03 🧠 Some parents create a positive overlay to escape their own painful childhood experiences. - 02:46 🎭 Example: A child pretends to be an angel to cope with an abusive household. - 03:59 🔄 Children create positive overlays to manage powerless situations, which can extend into adulthood. - 05:13 ⚠ Using this coping mechanism as a parent leaves children in pain and alone. - 06:24 🔄 This leads to an intergenerational cycle of harmful coping mechanisms. - 07:01 🪞 Children are gaslit and abandoned in their painful reality. - 07:54 💔 Failure to recognize a child’s reality leads to severe emotional distress and negative behaviors. - 08:51 👩‍👧 Example: Bonnie’s coping mechanism leads to her daughter Chloe feeling abandoned and neglected. - 11:47 🚨 Bonnie's denial of reality exacerbates Chloe’s mental health issues. - 12:55 🌌 Bonnie’s positive overlay results in emotional neglect and a broken mother-daughter relationship. - 13:31 🌟 Key to good parenting: Attune to your child's reality and avoid coping through toxic positivity.

Hey kids Teal really wants you to ignore her, not join her. Victim mentality is the classic play and hand she pretends is necessary for her survival. Sit back and enjoy the calls from within You're not strong enough to actually win against positivity, soooo, Not even teal and her mechanisms Have a great day!

Funny thing is Chloe grew up to be worse than Bonnie. Chloe grew up so detached from reality that she says things like : "people don't like me because I'm a powerful woman and people don't like powerful women." Whereas people don't like Chloe because she literally does not allow her employees to have children which is something her employee said on camera that she wishes to have kids but she can't because Chloe does not allow her. People also don't like Chloe because she's certifying dangerous people. People who abuse people's inner children and force their clients into sex. Just 2 examples out of MANY. But because Chloe is Bonnies daughter and apple doesn't fall far from he tree and she absolutely refuses to take responsibility over ANYTHING (except if it's something that boosts her image in public). Chloe is just as delirious and dangerous as Bonnie.

Wait, in the example Bonnie knew about the sexual abuse of her daughter and chose to ignore it?? Or she didn't know? it's not clear, but it seems like it really changes things whether she knew or not...

It doesn't really change that much, because even if she didn't know what exactly happened, she knew that her child "was very unhappy all the time" and she failed to find out why, because she already created a story for herself, that there's NO apparent reason for that unhappiness, so it's "just a phase". Nobody is expected to magically "know" everything, but there has to still be a responsibility and willingness to find out, to ask and to do your best to understand the other's perspective and the details of an issue. We can't just make assumptions about other people and pretend they reflect the truth, we have to ask, listen, understand, accept and address issues if we want to have meaningful connections with other people.

Acknowledge the pain, acknowledge the emotional situation and validate it. Unconditionally love all aspects of all the emotions your kids experience and validate how they feel. Sometimes my son freaks out so bad because his tablet turned off or something like that... I've found saying "that would be so hard and frustrating but we can fix it" this way doesn't dismiss him but acknowledges the situation.

objectivily observed this deniyng behaviour also makes the actual trauma or broblem to extend from it´s original severity . If some problem would be discussed or EVEN noticed when its at hand it more likely is muchs lesser then when it´s eventually gets SO big that that it´s existance can´t be denie-ed . when this realisation of some problem or trauma is covered over with a positive overlay , it will not make it disapear if it´s somethig that is observable with the senses or with more scientivig methods. If dad or mum has a alcohol problem the situation will be muchs worse over time .... or climate chanche ... if it´s not recognised . probably the ukraina russia conflict is also in this category of unsolved issues ... by the time they then ARE regocnised as a problem things have overtime got wors and wors and wors ... And then comes the realesation that if the thing had been observed and acted acordingly upon ones it appeared it had not mutated and got much more worce overtime when it´s a lot harder to dissolve ....

Wow, it's like religion stepped into a family. There's a level of delusion a person has to have to fantasize a savior coming to save and take them away from this miserable life and sinful world that surrounds them. The amount of real life reframing and delusion. It takes a lot of disassociation from reality to envision a loving father out of the one that's described in the Bible (it is definitely not loving, using threats to gain compliance and promises of relief and joy, but only after death). My mother was raised by an alcoholic father and enabling, complacent mother. She used manipulation to gain control with us kids, and when things got really tough, she turned to Christianity and became a zealot. For the first time, ever, she had hope -and she could continue to be as negative as she liked because the bible confirmed her reality & the world was evil and short lived. Having been suicidal since I was born and before, christianity offered her hope that life wouldn't last too long...
