When SATNAVS Go WRONG | ARRIVING at Speyside Gardens Caravan Park |

In this episode, you catch up with us arriving at Speyside Gardens Caravan Park in Aberlour, Moray. Driving in some beautiful scenery, I (Em) stupidly interfere when I get a bit anxious about an impending low bridge on route to the campsite. The SATNAV gives us an alternative route, which is not the best route to follow. The campsite is lovely with fully serviced pitches with showers, shop, childrens playpark and is a whiskey lovers dream. With lots of distilleries in the area to explore including Glenfiddich. After leaving Speyside we head to Aboyne in search of a wildcamp, stopping at the supermarket first to stock up. With the wildcamp not being suited, we manage by a stroke of luck to get onto our favourite campsite in Ballater. We have a lovely time there, eating indian food, walking, exploring Ballater village at night and relaxing next to the river dee. Filmed in July of 2023. We leave home with no plan on where we are going, watch the rest of the series to follow our travels on this epic adventure full of ups and downs. This campervan allows us the freedom of travelling in all seasons, we actually do most of our travelling in the Autumn/Winter as I have lupus disease | SLE | We stay on campsites & caravan touring parks, Aires & wild camp out in nature. We like to walk | hike with our cocker spaniel dog "Charlie" taking in breathtaking scenery of the countryside and the coast. There is something so magical about driving through the mountains and tourist areas in a campervan. Buying local produce to take back and cook in the campervan, or stopping at an independent shop for coffee and cake helping to support the local economy. Those low bridges and narrow roads! We liked the Ballater site when we stayed there, it is fantastic and your last pitch looks brilliant (your anxieties are never silly and I would be good with that one). Another great video guys. You really work hard at putting these together. That cheese looks delicious too.

Haha 😂 I just hate going under the low bridges! G gets annoyed with me, as we end up going on stupid roads to avoid something that’s not an issue 🤣😇☺️ No, rain is fine for my lupus, I just didn’t want to get my hair wet 🤭 And it was a humid day, which made the walking a bit sticky. ☺️ I love my the little tea bag holder too 🥰 Thanks Anne, Em 🎄 x

Those smoked paprika Doritos are awesome. I recognise that mug. Set meals for two normally do us two meals for two. Ballater is a lovely area we do not get there enough. Burn O' Vat is quite easy to get level on but best done when the cars have gone. Must get back there.

We have fallen in love with the whole Deeside area 🥰 Yeah we probably could have got level, but man those flies were evil 👿 I’m guessing they’re just a summer thing? Em 🎄

We often swear at the satnav when it sends us down narrow roads. Lovely walk near the site. Graham would like the distillery😂. I have the same eye issue. Have you thought of varifocals? They can take a bit of getting used to but have been a game changer for me. Pleased you managed to park at Ballater. It is a lovely site. Think we would like it there. Curry looked very nice. Cheese and biscuits are making me hungry 🤣 microphone issues are so easily done. We know 🤣👍😊x

Oh my goodness. This has got us thinking. Our van is 2.85m high but we have a TV aerial and I’ve never even considered how much height that adds!! Cheers for the tip Em!! Aberlour looks a good site - beautiful area there. Same with us with the glasses combination 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Ballater looks lovely. I hate those roads in a car never mind in a van!! We did a dicey one on holiday where we had to go through a ford and then up this really bad path through a field. I was so relieved when we got out the other side!! Xx

Even with the proper satnav it's still worrying. Ours has sent us down some right dodgy roads in the past. I have the same problem with glasses too, I was moaning about constantly having to change them yesterday. I love bombay potatoes 😋 Enjoyable video Em but you do make me laugh with your paranoia.😂
