Love the fact that the Sam Jones can just let whomever he interviews talk, without interrupting them every 5 seconds. That's rare. Love the black and white.

Wow, I’ve enjoyed Scoot McNairy’s interviews more than any others on this channel. His honesty and lack of ego are inspiring. As a human being he’s the real deal. I know what it’s like to be broke and not have enough money to buy food.

This was one of the realist stories I have ever heard from a Hollywood actor ever, with the exception of maybe Sly Stallone and a few other hard up success/comeback stories.

As much as it seems cold of his parents to not loan him money, look at him now. Look at the resolve it created within him to succeed. Moral of the story: if you want to be your best self, you gotta ween yourself off the teet of counting on others to provide for you.

This comment seems to assume his success was a forgone conclusion. Some people may have worse luck and end up permanently homeless or kill themselves or caught into drugs.

Been homeless twice. Tried to borrow money from a family member, they said no. Things are so much better now because they said no. Hard work pays off. No shortcuts.

It just struck me, as I lost the sentence after Scoot said; "..and I'm gonna work my aahBLEEP off..." (there was no bleep, but 'ass' was silenced) ... that AMERICA IS THE WEIRDEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET; you can carry a gun and shoot people but you can't swear. Perhaps we should reverse that. Swearing is a way of letting off steam. If we stopped living in a pressure cooker (a culture that doesn't allow for that), there might be FEWER reasons to shoot people.
@TheJakeChandler

Agreed, however it's because of KZbin's new policy as of the past year or so. They started not letting videos with excessive swearing (or almost any really) be featured/recommended, so all the creators who normally don't care about censoring their words were forced to choose between either start bleeping/censoring stuff at least some, or risk not being featured/recommend and basically losing lots of money. KZbin has been really shitty towards creators over the past couple years with new policies.....and that's not even to mention the whole copyright strike fiasco.

@@TheJakeChandler Thank you for explaining. It's rather fascist. At the very least, it's black and white thinking (not taking into consideration context and THE WAY IN WHICH a word IS USED), and just STUPID as bleeping/silencing does more to bring attention to a word than letting it get lost in the sentence. What is the copyright strike fiasco? (Dare I ask?) ... (If it's too complex for a simple explanation, can you point me in the direction?/where to look). Again, thanks.

I kind of wonder about his parents logic here. Did Scoot burn bridges before they cut him off or were they just "sink or swim" style of parents? Lazy parenting to be honest. I don't really respect work ethic stories, anymore, because the hardest working people often get paid the least. He, also, seems like someone who has been abused far beyond what anyone should be expected to tolerate. I say this because he reminds me of guy who was wrongfully imprisoned and was vindictively put into the worst sort of solitary confinement. He survived and was eventually freed from prison and even compensated financially for the negligence that occurred. It made him a stronger person but it nearly killed him and obviously was an awful ordeal. What resonated with me was what he said about ego in regards to being too choosy about what work you are willing to take. Even that, though, can be a problem if we are presented with low paying jobs that are somewhat respectable versus high paying jobs where it's understood that you check your ethics at the door. Sometimes you SHOULD be choosy and sometimes you have to lower your standards. In his case it seemed to be merely about survival.
