I figured this out as a child with 4 siblings. I was almost always uncomfortable with praises, either for things out of my control or by my own credit. But I have sisters who thrive on praises. The thing is, it becomes very clear, very early on, that once the praises stop, the actions that deserved the praises will eventually also stop. We have to build this mentality that we do things because we must, because it's just, and especially because it's right; no other expectations. This builds character and integrity.

Subhanallah i find myself in those words, since i was a kid i always rejected and hated praises, i really don’t feel comfortable being praised, i just think they are wrong about their judgement upon me, because i feel myself the most ordinary person ever. I used to love to recite quran, but since some of my relatives praised my recitation i stopped doing it, i always try to recite quran while driving when no one can hear me except Allah almighty and the angels ! Praises are like a poison or a drug the very first time you enjoy it you’ll be addicted to it and most of the times you may lose sincerity ans humility. May Allah have mercy on us and forgive us for our shortcomings 😢

Brother i think you misunderstood. It CAN be poison, but it isn't until it becomes a poison of the heart. Regarding your friends and family praising you, instead of stopping reciting publicly you should instead reply with something like "do not praise me, praise Allah who have given beauty to my recitation" as long as you recite for the sake of Allah not praises. Do you not know that for every people who listens to your quran recitation you get rewarded for every letter you recite that they listen? But still again, it is very important for us to not get praises get into our heads

That’s why the teaches us to say this cause we don’t know what’s in the hearts, A man praised another man in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) . The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Woe to you, you have cut off your companion's neck, you have cut off your companion's neck," repeating it several times and then added, "Whoever amongst you has to praise his brother should say, 'I think that he is so and so, and Allah knows exactly the truth, and I do not confirm anybody's good conduct before Allah, but I think him so and so,' if he really knows what he says about him."

A lot of prophets, 1 God who manifested in the flesh.... The AMAZING blindspot in Islam... denying Jesus's deity... God the Father is Spirit and manifested fully in Christ "the Son". EPIC!! Jesus healed all, raised the dead casted out demons, controlled nature and said: "If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. You will understand that the Father is IN Me and I am in you". I understand. Hence the divine healing miracles and casting out of demons i experience. Just as His first disciples experienced.
