@whiteranger79 you hit that right on the head! Damn I’ve heard that sentence throughout my entire life! My family is (my generation) full of half bro’s and sisters who all grew up without dads and we all received the same story about those men not being worth a damn. I held it down as the oldest of three kids in my moms household..worked a job and bought my first car, moved into my own place at 18, joined the military at 21, and have lived in Germany since 2011 when I left the Army at 26. I literally morphed into my dad, who is an awesome guy and shares so much in common with me! I am close with him now and it’s crazy to see how we are the only ones in such good standing with each other, while my cousins brothers and sister are all attempting to live life without ever reaching out to learn about their fathers! It’s a shame..I remember being at the thanksgiving dinner when I was 17 hearing my aunts and my mom disrespecting one of my cousins dads..at one point I snapped and said that it’s ironic that all of us have piece of shit dads yet all of us are 1/2 siblings and none of the women in our family are married! Of course everyone got pissed at me EXCEPT my grandfather who shut everything down after he took my side. Too many females think they can raise kids alone..it’s BS. Kids need both influences in order to fully develop. My mom still pumps her chest about how we turned out, but I’d like to say that she is very lucky that I was her oldest child.. my siblings had a big shoe to fill by me setting a high standard and now all of us are well off! Interesting point about how I set the standard: I always sought out guidance from strong professional men and emulated the values that they displayed to get good results in my life as a man! All those gems of wisdom that helped me get to where I am today came from decent men who took me under their wing and set me up for success.

This issue of weight concerning black women is one that needed to be addressed and there is no easy way to say it and not have women be offended by saying you need to loose weight. Black women health is at stake but yet continue to do emotional eating for comfort. This is a selfish act and the children are cheated out of caring mothers with energy to love and help them. Also this behavior is passed on to the children as a generational curse. Only the truth can help us break this curse.

However, both men were unfaithful and I don't tolerate cheating. Some women are married because they choose to turn a blind eye to whatever wrongdoing their man does. I don't. If I'm faithful and committed to him, I expect the same. It's about reciprocity of love, respect consistency. Most men aren't ready to be married. That's just a fact. Hi Kevin I want to say that I thoroughly enjoy your content. I'm a new subscriber and as a woman of a certain age, I've waited way too long to be serious about getting married, letting work and ancillary things take precedence while the years fly by. Now I want to be married and I know that I will need to be with a man much older than I and I'm fine with that. My life choices brought me to where I am now and I get it. If there is a such thing a re-incarnation maybe I'll remember the gems I now know to make smarter decisions. Lol. If any young ladies read this comment, do not wait! Be smart, execute your plan and get married early if you want a high value man. Don't let the years pass you by while you sit around being picky. Trust me. 💜

I was one of those kids. I was smart enough to seek a mentor elsewhere and got help, but statistics are not good for kids in that scenario. I went to school out of town and joined a martial arts gym where I got to be around some honorable men that kept me sharp. Like you said though, many kids are going to adapt to their mom's toxic behavior or worse, run to the streets where there are a bunch fatherless youth floating around getting into trouble.

Lol...I swear as we started getting up in age, a friend of mine was initially saying "she could've been married if she weren't so picky" and then follow up with how the man has to be XYZ and "love her unconditionally even if she puts on weight, no matter what..." because "she knows she's "attractive and able to take care of herself and can do it all for herself" and said "she's celibate"...this was at about 38. By 40, "she's waited this long, why should she settle? I may as well keep being single" 41-single, 42-single, 43...dated a guy for 3 months which apparently ended by September...by the holidays of that year she's with a new younger guy and once her 44th birthday passed early the following year, they were expecting, "engaged", and parents of 2 kids under 2 all in under a year...and in the end, contrary to ALL she use to say about herself and option to be single and celibate, I'm afraid it seems she did exactly what she said she insisted she wouldn't do which is settle.
