Pastor thank you for this posting. About six years ago I went through a horrible time and I would always pray and ask God for things. Then one day I stopped and just started to seek God's purpose and direction for my life. I stop asking for God to bring me out of my situation and merely sought Him. Now six years latter I find myself not asking God for anything, but always seeking His will and direction for my life. God has given me so much and poured into my life like never before.

Philippians ch. 4 v 6-7 says - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. PEACE of God comes, not when you have got your prayers answered, but when you know that you have told God your problem and that He heard you. It is then God's problem and He knows best what to do.

Exodus 32:14, Jeremiah 26:19, Amos 7:3, amo 7:6, Jonah 3:10, Jeremiah 18:8 many other verses show where prayer and repentance has changed God's mind.

Hello! I am very much enjoying and benefiting from your KZbin Ministry, Dr Betters. Thank you. I have a question that follows on from your statement that prayer is never a way of trying to persuade God to change his mind. Given that there are Biblical examples of God being persuaded to change his mind and act differently to what He had first intended, why shouldn't people today plead humbly for God to change the course of events through prayer? (Abraham bargained with God over Sodom & Gomorrah, Hezekiah asked for extra years to live, the persistent mother in Matthew 15)

I learned a lot from this, however, I do have a question. How do we know when He’s saying “no” or “wait”? Often times the wait can feel like He’s saying no

@Blessed Frombeyond77 I wonder this all the time. Typical example. Relationship trouble. How do I know if God is saying "wait she will come around" "have faith the relationship will work" or "she is not meant to be your wife" ??

God can also use people, places and situations to remind you of something. It’s not just about one way God can use something because he is sovereign over the whole earth.

Jesus asked in prayer that if it is possible let the cup pass from him but eventually he wanted God's will be done so that is how we should pray

@@AskDrBetters_MARKINCMinistries I've been praying for a job that I was terminated and deemed "ineligible for rehire, ever". And since god can do the impossible and own everything on this planet I've been seeking him out and asking him to restore the job for me. And I cannot tell if the answer is no or not. I also prayed to god that if it isn't in his will for me to go back there then please remove it from my heart and I will obey but I have not felt any of "removing" sort to speak. So either god is telling me to keep praying and trying to change myself to a good person so he could reward me with the job again one day or he's doing something. So I need to know when he's saying "no, yes" or just wait

@@jasonomnia9295 I don't think you should proove, that you're a good person and so get rewarded. God gives his blessings because He loves us, not because we're good. ( we are never good enough....) Go on praying, for discovering Gods will in this situation, for this job, for clarity, for open doors and for seeing the way. I experienced in my life times, when I discovered only afterwards, that God was guiding me, and I felt like walking in fog! May you see soon the way He wants you to go.
