A sleeper hit? Seriously not trying to be a jerk or anything but this song came out in 1971. It's already a hit, it just gets slept on because it's by a funk band and not Led Zeppelin or some other super group. Anyway, keep listening to it, it's easily one of if not the best guitar solo of all time.

@@JiraiyaTheGallant44 thank you! I just found it because of another late guitar player by the name of Joseph Bythewood, who was murdered in 2015. He was INCREDIBLE. You can find his playing on probably hundreds of very popular rap & R&B songs & albums from the 80s until he was killed in 2015 by his adult son. I was looking for footage of him playing and there's a vid of him playing it on here. 1st time I ever heard it and Joe aka JB MONEY absolutely killed it. JB Money aka Joe Bythewood is responsible for what I consider to be the very best guitar solo ever played on a rap song. Look up "PWA Instrumental" and go to the 4 minute mark. Tbh, that solo reminds me a lot of Maggot Brain. Still, I believe it's the best guitar solo ever put on a rap song. Ever. And it was by the homey JB MONEY. RIH, JB!

@@bobsims762 No I don't have to consider that because any musician with a half way decent ear on first listen can hear how the chord progression resolves and it doesn't sound even remotely similar to this. There's a huge difference between resolving on C from a Bm and resolving on an Am from a C. The way he's playing it loses all the tension and resolution of the actual chord progression. I think his fast noodling is distracting people from the fact that this doesn't sound right at all.

I was listening to In the Court of the Crimson King when I wrote this because of the stream.) Three lightning bolts strikes apart The heart of the last Revelstar Forging a silhouette of the astral bard At an event horizon eons dark The light of Exoliner finally sparks The silenced cores of a billion stars How many worlds, how many (cosmic) strings Are revived by the Cerulean king In his youth he was chased by a dream Chased by the voice of an ancient beam The wise men, wise men are dying (aging) Dusting off their souls and wings The last of them will soon depart Without a new heir to the old art Darkness sweeps steadily across Over the future and the past Voices of the children cease to sing Yielding to the roaring changing wind Dancers fall as the encore lifts again Alas, the swan song finally sinks in Suddenly, the last stars cease to be Eons have already slumbered past Xenagogues guide him to one last One last singing blue Revelstar Lightning strikes from above Igniting the forge’s old heart Neutron (stars’) waves string across Every (last) note a cosmic spark Reviving every (last) dream lost (Edits: typos)
