My mother was a jailer for the small town I grew up in and they arrested a guy one night for disorderly conduct. The jail was small (think the Mayberry jail) but had solid doors with a pass through vs bars and not equipped for long term detention (basically a drunk tank type deal) and they called the county to transport him to their facilities. When they went to remove this guy (very big guy), he refused to leave the cell and had wrapped a sheet around the door handle and his wrist. This guy was holding the door shut while FOUR deputies tried to pull it open. They eventually pepper sprayed him and still couldn’t get the door open, he would hold the door with one hand and wipe his eyes with the other and then swap hands. They tried to taze him but because of the angle through the pass through couldn’t hit him and couldn’t reach him with a handheld unit either. They finally had to use a cattle prod, that’s about 3 feet long, to subdue him and then it was still a huge struggle after they got the door open. Has me wondering if Haku was ever in the little town of 96, SC (yes it’s name is 96) and got arrested there. 😂🤣🤪 Funny thing was that the guy came to the jail very peacefully when he was originally arrested.

Based on other wrestlers stories and memories, I have absolutely no doubt that Haku is not only the “toughest” wrestler that’s ever been in the business, he might be one of the toughest most dangerous people on the planet. He seems to actually enjoy the whole fight process, whether he’s getting hit or doing the hitting. In a REAL fight I have little doubt that in his prime (maybe even today) he could take Lesner apart like a Tonka toy.

This is why I keep my brothers in check. One in is jail, he put another dude in the hospital with one blow to his head. Was in a coma for two days. I'm thankful for the mans life. It wasn't funny. And my brother was hated and the guy's family began racist rants towards my Samoan people but the guy stayed humbled. I do love and miss my brother but it's hard on our family when a loved one can't behave in a moment of a good time turned uncontiously out of control. Yes, us Samoans and or Polynesians have that strength, but I prefer my people to be looked at more positively rather than being tough. There's more to a lot of us than physical strength. God, family, and education is the goal. Especially heart.

I've heard stories of Haku as a legit tough guy. By the time Haku wrestled in Puerto Rico in the early 80s, he got involved in a bar brawl in San Juan with another wrestler. Thing is that it needed like six or eight cops to put him under control, and when they tried to restrain him, the handcuffs couldn't fit Haku's wrists. Because if this mess, he got fired from WWC, and he still has an arrest warrant.

I never really followed Haku, but by all accounts, he and Ravishing Rick Rude are the two wrestlers most often cited as genuinely badass.

There's a recent video on KZbin where Arn Anderson describes an incident where he saw Haku pick up a large cowboy 2 feet off the ground with one arm using the Tongan death grip and throw him through a door knocking him out cold

Between Stevie and Dutch I could list to their stories, good stories and good times.

there is similar hold that the Marines used to teach (Marine version is one hand to the side). It's not a choke it's just a really painful nerve hold. If you get under the jaw and press upward it's a legit pressure point. If a dude that big knew how to sink it in it would hurt bad enough where you wouldn't be able to knock him away easily.

Haku on the streets/ inside a cage would destroy Brock so bad that Brock would cry running to the entrance , begging his bald head boss to open it , only for Haku to drag that idiot inside and beat him to a pulp, simple different type of hardness , pure natural 300lbs Tongan . Kurt Angle would get his as well for talking out his ass. Haku trained in Sumo would not be easy to take down.

I love stories told by pro wrestlers when the storyteller is, years later, still just in complete awe of what they witnessed, or completely dumbfounded, and that comes through in the storytelling. This one qualifies. Two others that tell stories like that are Greg Gagne and Lance Storm.

Jerry Only said in a recent shoot interview which is available on KZbin that Meng broke the skull of Japan's karate champion with one blow

When hearing stories of Haku, just be lucky that you're not on the receiving end.

I'm always impressed with how 'matter of fact' Stevie always is. He is always so sure of his words and facts (to the point of bullying anyone who disagrees). It must be amazing to just know and be right about every situation he has ever been around in life. I wish I had some of that, but I'm a realist ;-)
