I got a telemarketer put in jail. He called trying to sell me a newspaper subscription and I told him no thanks and please don't call again. He seemed to think that was funny so he called again. I told him to stop calling and if he did again I would report him to the police for making harassing calls, which in my state was under the same law as obscene phone calls. Sure enough he called again and I could hear his co-workers chuckling behind him. I knew the name of the paper, filed a police report and the paper quickly figured out who it was since they'd hired the telemarketing company. Of course it was all on tape on their side which the police took. I thought he'd get some fine or something, but he had priors and a court date was called. I showed up and as soon as his attorney saw I was there he tried to make a plea. The prosecutor was having none of it and the judge gave him 6 months.

@christopherreed4723 Жыл бұрын
Just make sure the state you're being tried in actually allows an insanity plea. Several states have, afaik, stopped accepting pleas of not guilty by reason of insanity. From the judicial standpoint this makes sense. The trial is a determination of whether the defendant committed the act(s) of which he stands accused. Did he do "it" or didn't he. "Was he convinced he was Napoleon fighting the lizard people from Rigel" isn't relevant to that basic question. Insanity *is* taken into consideration during the sentencing phase of the trial, however. So if you plead insanity in a state that uses that model, you still be found guilty. But you'll be sent to a secure mental hospital until the nice people in white coats deem you to be "sane" again...at which point you'll likely go to prison to serve out the remainder of your sentence. I believe that the states that implemented this policy saw a sudden and rather significant drop in the number of defendants who submitted insanity claims.

I think the notes in Chinese-made electronics trope comes from a joke dating to the 1950s or 1960s, when Chinese restaurants first started becoming mainstream. The story was that (a) patron(s) cracked open their complimentary after-dinner fortune cookie and instead of words of wisdom found a note that read: "Help! I'm being held prisoner in a Chinese fortune cookie factory!"

Brian, already there man. If you have a Google Pixel phone, you have access to an AI that screens your phone calls for you. The person calls in and gets the AI that explains to them. It is an AI and that it's screening the call and for them to state who they are and what they want and then puts them on hold, it. Then texts me that information that it transcribed and I can either choose to pick up the call, hang up the call, or tell the AI what to tell the person through button prompts that are already written out. Things like " I need more information" or " now's not a good time. Please try again later." And if I don't have my phone right next to me and they don't play ball with the screener, It doesn't ring the phone or anything. So essentially I just don't get robocalls anymore. They're completely out of sight, out of mind. As far as booking things goes, again, my pixel phone can call a restaurant without me and use AI to book a reservation and the hostess will be talking directly to the AI and I'm off in a different city playing a video game or something. It then confirms it and sends it to my calendar and schedules the time for me to go to dinner So I don't miss it. And I can even schedule a car to come pick me up at the same time. There's a lot more that you can do, but I think that's enough for now and it's exactly the reason, mixed with the computational photography abilities, that I stick with Google.

So after an undisclosed amount of time she had enough H peed in the back of the police car. I don't know what happened after that but yeah.

Well, that "farting" joke is probably an urban legend. We have a joke about it in Poland, probably from 80ties or even older. Guy was stopped by the officer, farted and the officer wrote him a ticket: "urągliwie charczał odbytnicą w moją stronę" which can be loosely translated as: "He insultingly grunted with his rectum at my direction".

He is kind of close with the AI cooperation. See AI art has progressed so far so quick because of it. Let me explain. Maker AI creates a image then sends it to a AI that was designed to spot AI generated art. Detective (AI spotter) marks all the issues it finds and sends to back to Creator. Creator redoes the art to fix it and sends it back to Detective. It goes on like that for however long they are programmed to. 1 time, 100 times or just until the Detective can no longer spot any issues. At that point Creator sends the art to the human going "Here is what you wanted! Enjoy :)" So what he said about AI cooperative work to build themselves better is true and is being used even now.
