$1,500 COMPLETE Rod Bearing Replacement Kit: www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-...
I bought a 2007 BMW M6 powered by the mighty S85 V10 for $3,750. Only to find out immediately that my E63 would need rod bearings. The Car Ninja and I tackled it in record time. This job called for 51 hours of work and it took us less than 8 included the next video. It's really not that difficult, just tedious and precise work.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Common Questions:
What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus
What do I do for a living? Make KZbin videos.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
Where can I keep up with you off the bike?
Instagram: WatchJRGo
Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)
Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

The classic BMW onwership experience in Germany has always been to drive it hard for a max 4 years, fiddle with the odometer and sell it before it starts making the blue smoke. No point in making things like that last when they fail after it's been sold on and hence won't affect the original owners' decision to buy another. It was only a few years ago that they made it illegal to tamper with the odometer and that came after years of dogged resistance from industry and consumer advocate groups so they lease the cars now.

@@severinpridal1355 "Standard" after a bazillion hours, or something so huge the crank literally crushes the bearings to death, perhaps. 80,000 miles at 60mph is a whole 1,333 hours. Double it just for sport and it's still embarrassing...
@AaronSmith-kr5yf
@AaronSmith-kr5yf 3 жыл бұрын
@@severinpridal1355 Yeah I think its generally accepted practice to refresh the bearings and piston rings on a semi truck engine every million miles or so. So yes replacing rod bearings is "standard maintenance" lol. Of course a lot of the time the rest of the truck is trashed by the time the engine wears out.
