honestly its like part of me wants to cut guys like these some slack when they're trying to be helpful but at the same time its hard to do that when they play like my mother who literally and i kid you not in the one and only game i ever got her to try once, tapped W over and over instead of holding and didnt understand the concept of how to make the camera rotate 360 degreees cause she didnt get that she could pick up the mouse, return it to where it started, and than move it the same direction again to rotate further than the fov limit.......

I used to talk as a way to calm my nerves in situations like this completely oblivious to the fact the person trying to clutch in that moment has all of their focus on trying to not fuck up and I was causing more harm than anything. We all make mistakes and sometimes that gets us chewed out by our teammates or people poking fun at us, but at least we're good sports about the whole thing and, more importantly, learn something from the experience. Good luck in your future runs!

@@windrider970 Have you seen anyone bunny hopping in Darktide? I'd imagine with the more complex and restricting mobility the game has, it's a lot more difficult to bunny hop than the much easier option of dodge-slide chaining, which I've seen plenty of people do in Darktide.

This happens even in lower difficulties, where the AI director just snorts a line and sends 6 gunners or Maulers or Ragers to try and fold everyone, and has been the sole reason I love the Bolter because even if they don’t die I chunked them up and staggered some of them a bit

In those cases only Bolter, Plasma Guns, Retcon Laser and Thunder Hammer can handle. That's why you need 1-2 players have those on the team on Damnation and Auric.

@@superspies32 Or one Veteran with a knack for full auto in buildings. Usually pumping the Boltgun in a conical area in the group can work wonders, spraying from right to left enough so that most enemies take 2 bolts each. Of course, it can still be finnicky, but it knocks their hp down to more manageable degrees for other weapons. Plus for the armored boys, Krak Grenades are good, thanks to them wiping out 2-3 Dreg Ragers/Maulers thanks to the sticky effect, and staggering the rest. I have yet to try out Damnation, only got to Heresy (or whatever the 4th one is) on a Hi-Intensity modifier and Heresy in the Maelstrom

@@armintor2826 I don't get it, either. I hate to feel this way, too, but it's very rare that I see somebody just reaching 30 who can hold their own in aurics, or even standard damnation. And a lot of that has to do with the fact that there's no way to have farmed out a build by that point. Skill aside, all you have at that point is a full perk tree. Your weapons and curios are still gonna be entry level, though. At least now with the mastery system, you no longer have to dump tons into the armory to farm blessings, but without a mod telling you if something can be empowered to the max, you still have to kinda farm for something with good stats.

@@Manslayer-eo1nh It isn't necessarily the noise itself or the volume, it's the amount. Sometimes the game just seems to play the sound effects of 100 unimportant pox walkers on screen, and then the poxburster comes in out of nowhere because it was sound effect number 101.

@RoadRunner217 Battlefield 4 had something similar. When you have 60 dudes with automatic weapons firing in an enclosed space, the audio would just give up and produce nothing. Maybe darktide has a similar issue. Maybe the audio engine just can't handle that many audio sources. With auric, the number of enemies that attack you has drastically increased compared to release.

spamming parry (like _mashing_ the parry/special button i mean) against ragers is effective as hell in my experience. makes you practically untouchable while everything dies. also that poxburster at the start was bs. couldn’t even hear bro coming 😭

There are, albeit small, gaps when it comes to parrying multiple Ragers trying to combo me. It feels that way when I'm using every other varient of the devil claw except for the mk4.

⁠@@MrUncin the patch for the crafting update they increased the block duration after parrying due to enemies being able to easily damage us immediately after a parry. parrying ragers without a scratch was much more difficult prior to this update. now it’s become a lot easier. though, admittedly, i have yet to try parrying against an entire _horde_ of them instead of 3 to 5… 🫠

Had a wipe the other day where a flamer spawned directly behind me, from a door (note: I had just killed a flamer there seconds prior) while I was holding back a mixed horde with Smite that looked to contain about half a dozen Ragers, at least 3 Crushers, and a few Maulers in between them. 2 of my teammates died, while the third got downed below. I couldn't move an inch in any direction and the only way out was jumping over a rail, which would have killed me if I hadn't landed on a box. I was able to pick up a teammate, only to watch him get squashed by a straggler Crusher that came around the corner with seemingly no sound at all, while I myself was getting roasted by a flamer (no clue if it was the same one). Good times.

Friend and i bought the game about a week ago and have been working our way through the difficulties. Had a heresy level game very similar to this with the ai director throwing some crazy shit at us. Makes me wonder how bursters handle their beeping. Is it a pathfiding thing or just how close they are in a straight line. If it's the former, it must be the sound engine running out of memory and just not being able to play their beeping as a result.

I'm unable to play on my PC until I get home in May next year. You, Choco B, and, Vamp are my fave players to one of my new fave games. The combat is good when I notice myself "playing" along side ya'll. And also a testament of how good players really makes me want to dump another 800hrs into the game. Anyways, long tangent aside, you're awesome and awesome at the game. Keep on keeping on. Also, may I request you play your most disliked class with the most inefficient build and your least used weapon? Just like challenging myself like that sometimes to force ke to try new tactics in gameplay.

Real as fuck. It isnt hard to fight, even solo, but its so horrendously tedious and miserable to deal with in literally any scenario. Just a bullet sponge gimmick fight that no one asked for.

It just wants to be your fwend. I'd like it's swallow pathing to reflect that like taking the victim closer to a med station or dropped crate. Or spitting them out into a big pile of enemies so they too can "play" with the victim.
