Politicians and police hate being made to look impotent foolish and inept. For the police that can be extremely dangerous and breed more crime. Military has explicit rules about interaction with civilians and doing law enforcement work. An EX Gf father told me a story where they (cost guard) helped a group of police who were outnumbered arrest some criminals on the docks. They got a Ty from the PD and town, but an ass chewing from their superiors. They even made the local paper implying they probably saved the officers lives. The military is only allowed to interact with civilians at the direct request of the Governor of each state. Unless in war time the president is not even allowed to use the military on USA soil. Such are the separation of powers and protection of civilians from military overreach.

Not the only encounter with the Crips by a Ranger. Out on the"hill" (cheap rent for a reason) Chips were hanging out on the corner, selling drugs. The Ranger objected. The Crips told him they would "Mess his ass up" and to STFU. The Ranger calmly went inside his home, came back out with his Mini 14 and emptied a 30 round magazine into their car. Of course the punks scattered. The TPD eventually came by a couple of hours later and the solution was the soldier was moved into post housing the same night.

@@walkingcontradiction223 booga'd = boogaloo'd = usage of 2A rights in defense of constitutional freedoms, aka, in this case, not getting shot by dealers for not wanting to live in a neighborhood that has dealers. Oogas = cavemen/tribals, though I'm more for leaning towards the first, given it feels more all-encompassing.

I live in an area of Baltimore that was just singled out as being so bad the state is going to come in and "revitalize" it for the "concentrated poverty". It wasn't like that when we moved there 7 years ago, but now if someone is breaking into your car the cops show up 30 mins later and won't even investigate it. It's absolutely insane how bad this area got so fast. Guess this is what I have to look forward to in the future.

I love this story. I thought I might find myself in a similar situation once... not as experienced or have as many friends though. but they burned down their house and moved. Just before that one of them visited the hospital with stab wounds. Three tan mini vans filled with big dudes with body armor and short barreled rifles in plain clothes showed up to inquire about the events earlier that day. I saw them turn up, taking care of something in my front yard, and was like, "You boys just do what you need to, I'm going inside." Got my family hunkered down on the floor and grabbed my rifle just in case. Turns out they were one of the county SWAT teams. Things were tense at times, but nothing ever really popped off.

You should do a story on FriendlyJodries. He did a story last year exposing Coronation, a corrupt real estate company linked to the local gangs, kidnappings and politicians. He took the story down due to death threats against his family and the NSW police REFUSING to take action against the likely suspects, but said story has been re-uploaded by heaps of people.
