4:03 Giri almost played . ...g5 with a devlish trap: Nxd5 Ne7. And he wins exchange. But he got cold feet and defended pawn on d5. It is readonable to say that black was stestegically lost ever since he allowed isolated pawn which cannot be defended by his bishop. White focused on it like a hawk on a praerian desert mouse.

Are you sure about that? g5 Nxd5 Ne7 Nf4 Rxd3 Rxd3 Rxd3 Nxd3 (black has no time to capture the knight)now if g4 Nd4 and c3 is saved. black also doesn't gain by capturing c3. if Bxc3 Nxg5 and black has horrible pawn structure However ...g5 Nxd5? Bxc3!(not Ne7) wins back the pawn and b4 is likely falling. Why did giri not play g5 then? Bcz ...g5 Rxd5 Rxd5 Nxd5 (not Rxd5 as gxf4 and d8 rook is protected) and white wins a pawn. Now Bxc3 doesn't win a pawn as after Nxc3 d1 rook is guarded.

With 5 seconds on so on the clock, one might expect mistakes and blunders from any player. Especially in the knight endgame, which is exceptionally difficult for a human mind. Another question is WHY they allow the clock to tick down to 5 seconds. Magnus is more clever, he starts his endgames with 90 seconds on his clock. Wise man!

Magnus Carlsen proves otherwise - he is a champion, perpetual champion, because he knows the ultimate importance of the endgame, and he mastered every bit of it. Anish had king and a pawn, and even the basic routine, taught long ago by Capablanca, teaches how to position pieces. Anish had all the chances, but failed and played nonsensical moves. Endgame, endgame.

@@Dr.S-ct2bq prospects of chess werent that high most of the top athletes from india in all sports have some bachelors atleast some even have masters and all adhiban just lost interest stopped improving and decided to focus on his job and quit professional chess on the highest level he still plays from time to time but is 2500-2600 only
