I rig mine up Hands Free. Cause of the Exploding logs. They shot out at a legal force. So I'am no where around it. I just tie a rope to the lever, loop it down to a piece of wood for a peddle, and the rope back up to the button with a stick wedge between it where the rope pull down on the button. When i smash the wooden peddle. > it pull down on the lever and button at the same time. I LOVE IT

Sound like a good idea. I got hit with one once in the knee, ouch! I'm more careful splitting now.

This doesn’t have two hand operation? Most have a button you have to push along with the lever. I noticed you were doing it with one hand. That’s a nice feature .

Yes, it works like most of the gas powered splitters I've used. It allows for better control of the wood.

This video had me confused. An American talking about hardwood? In Australia we have real hardwood including a tree species called iron bark. However the timber being split looked very similar to timber we get here. What is going on? Then at the end it’s mentioned the timber is from a eucalyptus tree. It all makes sense. I have a similar log splitter. It works okay but is often stopped by hard rounds. Sometimes taking slices from the sides works, turning the round into a rectangular block. This works okay as it provides smaller pieces to help get a fire going along with a big block to burn for longer. Most log splitters here in Australia are rated at 30 tonnes or more. They are expensive too. So I think I’ll stick with my little electric log splitter for now.

Ya it's a handy little splitter, but does have its limitations. It's definitely cheaper than a 30 ton. Thanks for the reply!

@@fischertoolandgarden based on your other video describing the ban on small engine powered garden equipment in California, the bigger log splitters will not be available there anyway. It is a crazy situation.

just it dosent work like it needs to, my presses till end and you can even feel it struggles, this just hit something hard and let go , i think need check oil pump

I've had to take smaller bites on some hard or larger logs. Is the wing nut vent on the top of the tank open? It is limited to 7 tons, so it won't split everything, but gets the smaller stuff OK.

It sounds like it clicks into a gear after you turn it off, following a jam. Must be a safety issue?
