Static-P, you're pretty clever! I noticed that from 0:21 to 0:23 there are 8 footprints total that don't belong to the detective, 4 of them a solid hot pink with a star, while 4 of them are faded. If you remember the lyrics and visuals from "A Reason For Suffering," there were originally 8 members of the Star Blush Girls, so the footprints must represent each of the members, with the 4 solid ones obviously representing Hareka, Aoke, Bee, and Keiko, and the faded ones representing the members who left. Since this is essentially the opening of Criminal Idol, it makes sense that it would foreshadow future events, which makes me wonder how much more foreshadowing you've included, like the kanji (I think it's kanji) behind Nori. It's this attention to detail that really impresses me. Well done!

At 0:07 one might observe that the orange in the bomber’s eyes are only little orange blobs in the center of GRAY eyes.. and note that the point of the nose is closer to the mouth than directly in between the eyes and the mouth. Look at [insert orange-eyed guy’s name]. The tip of his nose is upturned, centered between the eyes and the mouth. Now have a look at Nori’s face on the next slide. He has GRAY eyes with the point of HIS nose closer to his mouth.. Also, none of the other characters, at least those in this video whose eyes are OPEN, have dark GRAY eyes. Another thing to note is that both [Orange Eyes] and Nori have the same eyebrows as the bomber. Now these are just a few observations on the face of the bomber as shown in THIS video, but perhaps a few of you may notice some other similarities between the bomber and other characters. Edit: One may also note that the bomber has a small indent on their chin below their mouth and that the bomber also appears to be either chewing on his or her bottom lip or perhaps is just pursing his or her lips together. Another small detail is the bomber’s face shape. It is quite similar to Nori’s face shape, with a more pronounced chin and a slightly concave jawline. On the other hand, [Orange Eyes] has a more rounded, CONVEX jawline. On a different note, the bomber’s bomb clearly has a fuse, which may be accountable for the sound of the match that the dialogue at the beginning of Static-P’s song “Idol Bombing” entailed. As the comment thread above mentioned, it is very unlikely that a MATCH, as soft as that is, would have been able to be heard from a DIFFERENT room, especially depending on how thick the walls were, how close the girls were to the door leading into the room holding the baggage, where the baggage was positioned relative to the position of the two girls at the beginning of the song, etc. Also, slightly before the halfway point in that song, the detective deduced that the cause of the explosion was dynamite, which is an explosive commonly portrayed with a FUSE.

Alright, well it's been a while since I payed you a visit Static. Sorry I am a few days (and episodes) late but I am here for my (regularly scheduled) analysis of everybody's favorite Idol-Mystery. We left off on Episode 6 which was released before episode 5, so analyzing episode 5 which is titled "A Reason for Suffering." We have the members of the Star Blush girls, mainly the blue haired girl Aoke describe the groups journey throughout their idol career and whatnot. The beginning like most starter idol groups is rough due to lack of fans and general advertisement of the group causing two members to leave, whatever they won't be missed. Suddenly the group is offered a life changing gig by somebody who is not mentioned in that episode (more on who that may be later). The group gains momentum and rises in popularity. During the Top Ten Idol competition the stage is bombed while a group is still performing, the bomb was hidden inside of baggage belonging to the Star Blush Girls, naturally as is the case with human nature, blame was placed upon the most likely suspects being the girls themselves and their popularity, fans and overall reputation plummeted faster than my will to live. They were ridiculed inside and outside of school. As a result two more members leave the group due to not wanting to be associated with the infamous group. The third year of school begins and one of our protagonists Cole is inducted into the Star Blush Girls and becomes their manager, end of Episode 5. I already analyzed episode 6 titled "I'm Sorry!" and all other previous episodes in the series which you should totally check out if you haven't already. Now we have episode 7 or rather episode 0 here titled "When the Darkness Comes". This episode serves as an introduction slide for all of the characters involved in the Criminal Idol Universe. Some interesting information is provided here, not necessarily in the lyrics but more on what is displayed on the screen. The age of the characters is displayed as well as their personalities and aspirations for the future. This gives much insight as to how certain characters will behave and interact with others throughout the story. As previously mentioned the Star Blush Girls received a gig that boosted their fame from an unknown source, I believe this source is the character named Nori, the event manager who ushers in fresh talent to big shows to boost their fame (sounds awfully convenient). That aside, the female teacher introduced in episode 6 who oversees the "new" Idol group Meteor. The group itself isn't new, based on the information we receive from the video, the group that was bombed onstage during the Top Ten Idol competition was the original Meteor. It is unexplained what happens to the original Meteor members, but let's be honest, if the bomb was directly backstage and had a decent enough blast radius, either the shock wave or debris killed the previous Meteor members, sad indeed. Now onto the actual theorizing, enough of this interpretation and observation. Something that concerns me is the fact that the silhouette of the bomber in the beginning of this video has the same pupil color as the teacher Kanesaki Hyudou, not to say that he is the culprit of the bombing per say but it is an interesting fact, although more than likely entirely for aesthetic. Additionally, the members of the Star Blush Girls all seem to have exciting, outgoing personalities as well as high aspirations for the future, all except one, the manager Cole. Well he isn't a Star Blush *Girl* but he is their manager, as well as the only person in this entire video who is still figuring out their aspiration. Perhaps he is just apathetic and going through the typical teenager motions. Also, Kanesaki's aspiration is "To be lazy". Essentially, he has no motivation or his true motivations are being hidden, either way we won't know until the series progresses. Interesting to note that Detective Detective (my favorite character) is friends with Kanesaki, and it was Kanesaki that invited him to the Top Ten Idol competition. Think about this, Kanesaki is in charge of overseeing the Star Blush Girls right? However he was forced into this position by his sister, this means it may be safe to assume he does not wish to be a supervisor to a High School Idol group. Also as the supervisor he would logically have access to the groups baggage at all times during any performance, including the Top Ten Idol Competition.... I will let you all do with that information what you will. I still believe that our beloved Kanesaki is the antagonist of this story. All in all Static thank you so much for the fresh content. As always you did an outstanding job, let me know if I missed anything (if you read it all of course didn't realize it was so long.) id like to add on your theory about Kanesaki being the antagonist. Most normal teachers would not be able to get their hands on a bomb that can cause that big of an explosion, but when we read the information about Kanesaki, it states that hes a genius and an inventory, meaning that he could, and probably does have the knowledge to know how to make the bomb, and the ability to create it as well, meaning that he is a pretty big suspect. But theres one thing in your theory i dont quite like, just because it lacks in quite a bit. you mentioned the bomber in the beginning having red eyes (same color as Kanesaki) but what you failed to mentioned that it was the pupils that were red, while Kanesaki has full red eyes, and i know you said that it could just be for aesthetic, which is also what i believe it was for, but that being a hint at who it is, to be honest, is a pretty big stretch. Also, Kanesaki could have invited detective Detective in order to try and lead him away from thinking that he was the one who planted the bomb. They are close friends, so Kanesaki has to know that Detective Detective is one of the best detectives around, and why would any villain invite the best detective to the scene of their big crime unless its an attempt to try and stray him away from them.

We know that both the detective and Cole are main characters of the serie because in Static's speedpaint video of detective detective he says something like "And then Rainy asked me if I wanted the character to have long blonde hair because I have long blonde hair in real life. So that's why the main characters in this series have long blonde hair" Okay something like that it was a long time since I watched it. I think that the bomber will be secret for a while and the series will end with everything being revealed. And maybe everyone will be retired in the next series? Maybe Static will make up new characters? I don't know, maybe that's how it's meant to be :) To actually get people to think about the story and how it's going to be. Some observations: During Kanesaki Hyudou’s part of ‘When The Darkness Comes’ there is a set of black foot prints moving perpendicular to the trail we follow throughout the rest of the video. 0:59 . Nori, despite having grey hair has the same colour eyebrows as other blond and light brown haired characters but not black or blue haired characters who's eyebrows are black. According to Kanesaki's profile he is a genius but in episode 6 he forgot that he gave Detective Detective the key to his lake house and that they were even going to be there at all. Kariko has yet to be given an observable eye colour. Some hypotheses. Kanesaki didn't forget. He was asked by Aka Sensei to train her group and asked Detective to come on the same day. Kanesaki's synopsis states that he was forced to teach and supervise a highschool idol group by his sister. Aka's aspiration is to manage a successful idol group and she is a teacher. Since it is unlikely for any new characters to show up we can deduce that Aka is Kanesaki's sister. If the siblings theory ends up being true it opens up suspicion for her to have obtained the bomb, since Kanesaki is an inventor, though there is a slight hole in the hypothesis. Aka’s personality is sweet and shy; a sweet person would not force their brother to become a teacher. The idol bombing as it is fundamentally unsolvable; none of the idols should be able to be able to buy or construct a bomb, of the people that are left Detective, Nori and Kanesaki lack the motivation (it goes against their aspiration) , Aka and Detective lack the personality traits necessary to commit an act of terror. This means a) the information we received is incorrect or b) the information he have received is some type of generalisation and is not always true or acted upon, given the hole in the sibling theory I suspect it is the second one. To explain Aka could be shy and sweet most of the time around most people but most people have a different personality when with family, similarly Nori could have bombed the stage because he wanted to fraud his insurance to get more money so he can continue to reach his aspiration. That being said, this reasoning is a slippery slope that makes it impossible to derive meaningful theories. The silhouette in the beginning isn’t indicative of anything, similar to the ones used in danganronpa. If it was then this would be easy as based on the eyebrows and masculine build there would only be one suspect. Crackpot theories The footprints in the video follow the suspisions everyone has of who the bomber is. it would go like this: Detective=> Star Blush Girls => Kanesaki Hyudou (at this point we learn that the trail is leading in completely the wrong direction as symbolised by the second set of black footprints (symbolised to be the bombers at the beginning) (also the fact that Kanesaki’s footprints can appear at the same time as the criminal’s should be direct proof that it isn’t him). Thinking more about these footprints for a second, the only other set of footprint to lead upwards were the detective’s. Since all footsteps go sideways, taking this literally, it means that none of these people are the culprit and since Detectives footprints go up towards the Star Blush girls it would mean that the culprit can be found by working from them or by choosing a different direction from the starting incident that would lead to the culprit in one degree of separation. Hence, under this barrage of assumptions, we can deduce the criminal was an idol (who would have guessed!). We know that they received hazing from another idol group in so it could be those people. Nori dyes his hair grey. Reason, going grey at thirty one is unlikley. Aka’s current age is 21, the idol bombing was three years ago, she would be 18. Depending on the how the year system works it unlikely that she was in an idol group at the time of the bombing, but if she was then it would explain her aspiration to manage an idol group. In addition the inclination to revive meteor rather than start a different club could indicate that she was once a member or fan. Kariko is Japanese for calico (like the cat) from this we can theorise that she has different coloured eyes since calico cats are particolored or that she is related to Nori (since according to Wikipedia they are said to bring good luck/money). This is all i have so far.

I have been watching all of Criminal Idol again and again, and I am finally able to piece together most of the puzzle. Nori had Hareka plant the bomb to get rid of most of the established Idol Groups so that he would be counted as responsible for helping a bunch of newer Idol Groups rise to fame, while also messing with the rigged idol competitions. He targeted Hareka specifically because he knew she would trust him. And it worked, though he had been arrested before he could see it happen due to Hareka calling the police. He probably has someone else working for him and making sure his threats still have meaning to them, though we don’t know who that is.

Yo i just realized that the lyrics of the song matches the personality of the person on screen at the time, which means that those symbols on akas footprints are actually bombs because the lyrics say "i know you know what youre thinking. I know you know that it aint good". Notice that aka is the only adult to actually have lyrics playing when they are on screen, every other adult only has the background music. Static is very purposeful with everything he puts in these episodes and i think that once he finally releases the next few episodes it will be revealed that aka sensei was actually the bomber. I saw that too. I was rewatching this video and noticed that Aka sensei has, what looks like, bomb footprints - as well as the fact that they're bright red. Haha, I almost got a heart attack seeing it since it surprised me so much!

DAY 12 of reviewing every STATIC-P song: This really should just be the intro to your own anime. Though I guess that WAS the feel you were trying to achieve! Catchy, short, and focuses on the overarching theme of the “darkness”. It’s one of 4 of your songs that I still have in my playlist, which is probably BECAUSE of how short it is. The opening is also one of the best you’ve made, and visuals are stunning, even more than they usually are. I’ve listened to this song so many times without overanalysing it, that I now can’t recognise any instrument other than the guitar, Now they just register as “good sounds” and not much else. (￣▽￣"") This really is a perfect intro to your channel. I give this song a: 🎧 out of 10

First time watching it: Reading everything and thinks about how new characters will be used in the future. Second time watching it: Just listening to the music. Third time watching it: Listening and writing this comment =3 I think that this video will be helpful to understand how everything comes together too. Btw: The website is amazing I already have an 7 pages long chat with a few other fans. +Sky_Dragon_4000 that's a great question! Most of it is done through programs. Though I spend quite an amount of time editing them to make them sound real. Giving them articulations and tone changes and so on. =)

Mm Mm! I play Piano, Sax, Vocals, Koto... If you give me some time I can learn pretty much anything, fairly-quickly, just because so much of my life revolves around that sort of thing... though Obviously not to a point where it'd be "proffessional" level in only a week. lol While I enjoy playing instruments, I actually enjoy Composing/writing much more. Meaning, I'd rather spend time trying to make a programmed instrument sound beautiful, than try to learn the actual instrument. lol ^^; Plus i don't have that kind of money. =P

Aka means “red” in Japanese Red herring? lol and no one wanted to know but uh “Nori” means “seaweed,” “Keiko” means “rehearsal,” and of course “sensei” means “teacher” I have no life so I looked this up... I was hoping “Nori” would mean “herring” because then that would be awesome with him and Aka Sensei cleared up when you put their names together... but I guess “red seaweed” is the closest combination you’d get to that 😂 This probably means nothing hahaha
