@@jtroueche1980 I’m glad you got your money back, they’re so scummy, so I requested my warranty be canceled when I sold my car, the business manager said he canceled and it’s in process, so just now after threatening to sue them and messaging the main manager I come to find out 5 months later the warranty was never canceled and the business manager lied to me this whole time. So I finally got to cancel it and hope I get my money soon. Almost $4k it’s unbelievable they get away with this kind do stuff. Criminal!

First step is to look at the warranty contract - it will provide instructions for you to follow. If you did not get a copy of the contract, call the administrator or the dealer and get a copy, and go from there.

I came back to this channel, I solved the problem and won my 4400$ back . What I was told to do is call dealership talk to your financial advisor that handled your agreement, tell her/him you called Texas bureau to investigate your dealership, since your not paying back my warranty, investigated told me to call you one more time before actions take place….. well they paid me back less than a week.

I say also go to BBB (better business bureau) and file a complaint… usually that gets the attention of the management.. I have had Best Buy screw me up for an open box Apple Watch and they refuse to take it back when it was already linked to someone’s email.. I posted a review on BBB and got my refund in less than a day. Almost $400. I’m going to cancel my vehicle warranty as well which they said would help with APR and bank would give a better rate if warranty is added. Hopefully I don’t have to take the longer route

I was told that the finance company requires it to borrow funds. I bought the car 1/11/2023. On 2/2/2023. I had an issue with the car system alert. I scheduled to bring it in that next Monday. They wanted me to pay for things that should have been covered or fixed before I bought it. Then they said it was sold as is that the warranty does not cover anything. So, I had a hard time trying to cancel it. Now they tell me the refund will go to the finance company that it will go towards the loan. Is there a way it can be refunded back to me? I bought a new Ford Mach E. They added $7k of warranty without my permission or didn’t even offered. They just told me to sign and that this is registration and transfer fees and stuff. They charged me a $5k 8year/96,000 warranty and a $2k 5 year cilajet leather warranty. Both say option and they also said that the $2k warranty already added to the car, but not shown on sticker price.

I believe you have the right cancel both and may have other claims too - look at the contract for both and take the next steps on how to cancel. If the dealer ignores you, file an MVA/DMV complaint and/or call a dealer fraud lawyer in your state. If you need a referral let me know the state.

@@Woke365 Hi, if the dealer won't redo the contract and remove it, which they probably won't, you can follow the cancelation instructions that should be on the warranty contract itself. If the dealer won't help, call the warranty company directly and ask them what they need from you to cancel and then do it. Usually it is a full refund within 90 days. You can also call a dealer fraud lawyer on this - if you are in MD, give us a call.

Another thing to consider is that sometimes the dealer will charge customers for a warranty or service contract, but will not put it into effect, and just keep the money. To check if that happened, call the administrator and see if they have your VIN on file. If not - it is a probably a good legal case for fraud and other causes of action.

Hi Chris, I suggest you call the Administrator for the plan - their contact will be on the contract. Ask them what you need to. The contract will also probably tell you the steps to take to cancel. Do whatever the steps are - if the dealer is ignoring you, send them a certified letter, or, get the GM's email and email the GM that you want to cancel. If none of that works, you can file an MVA complaint, or, call a dealer fraud lawyer. If you tell me what state you are in I will do my best to get a referral for you.

I was jammed an extended warranty on a 2022 dirt bike. I quickly realized what was going on and dealership finance blamed insurance and vise versa. Finally emailed Aegis and the manager said that he would pay the money and stop doing business with the honda dealership. Thank you. The contracts for both will probably have a section on cancellation, follow those directions. Also, it cannot hurt to email your finance manager and put in writing that you want to cancel the contracts, and ask them if there is anything else you need to do for them to process the cancellation. Putting it in writing is critical, because otherwise they will likely pretend you never made the request.

I traded in a 23 Titan after one month with 1200 miles. I submitted an odometer statement along with a cover letter to Nissan dealership in Brunswick GA. A month has passed. No reply. I tried calling several times and they will not put me over to finance manager. They are avoiding me. I’m going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I hope that helps. My situation is a $499 Paint Dent Protection... I saw the contract and it said optional. I told the financing guy that I didn't want it but he kept pressuring me that it was not an option to take it off, so I signed it. The dealership did not give me the paperwork I signed and I knew it said I had 10 days to cancel. I spoke with Apex Protection and they said I was able to cancel it with them since it was under 10 days and the dealership was refusing to cancel it when I went within the 10 days in-person. Apex canceled it, would take 6 weeks to get refund. It's been almost 3 months and no word. Apex told me to contact the dealership and so far no word back from finance manager. I'm guessing they will still refuse to cut a check to my lien company.... Should I contact a lawyer even if it's only $500. I'm being pushed around by the dealership and I hate it!

Financial manager from dealership put wrong lien holder and now Im waiting for extended warranty to correct it. Sir, I just bought a certified. Lexus but the agreement that I had with my salesman , change when I see and review the contract it has changed and the price of the used. Car went so very high he adds a lot of add ons that is not on my knowledge, and from their website he told me that I can’t get the rate from there becoz my credit a little lower but I know I got very good credit and then with that contract he give that rate but the terms of payment he change then add another year so every thing is fucked up . We purchased a car from a dealership in 2018 and sold it about 14 months later on May 12, 2019. I called the dealership and they requested I send them my Buyers Order and Odometer Sheet for the car sale which I did. I have tried multiple times over the next 6 months I tried to get the refund but each time they would put me off and say it had been submitted so I finally just got busy in life in forgot about it which I guess was their goal. Recently I traded another vehicle and the dealer told me that by law that other dealership was supposed to reimburse me. So I called them today and they stated since it was over 90 days since I sold the vehicle that I was not entitled to the full refund anymore that the refund would count the sale going back 90 days from today. So another words they would say I sold it 90 days ago not back on 5/12/2019. Can they do that, hold your docs past the 90 days then claim you dont get a refund cause it is past the 90 days? Unfortunately since it was back in 2019 I cant find my emails where i orginally sent them the doca and cancellatio request. Can they deny me my refund? He sent me a cancellation today that is dated as though he created it in April 2019 and it states expiration date of July 2019. Is he trying to say I missed the cancellation date by putting that date on there instead of requested on today's date?

Then you might have a good case. Call the warranty administrator, figure out who cancelled it and on what date, ask what was done with the refund, and that will give you some facts to go on. Sometimes dealers forge signatures, remove warranties, increase the price, and do other illegal things. Also you should get a copy of the contract that the dealer sent to the lender that financed the car, and see if that matches the contact you signed and got a copy of the from the dealer.

Hey can you please answer my question. I went to the dealer go my new car and I baught a 8 year 100k mile warranty for $1,795 and also a tire and wheel warranty for $795. I suggest calling the warranty administrator directly and going through their cancelation process. That way you can take it out of the dealer's hands. Be sure to explain that the dealer has stonewalled your efforts.

I bought a 2022 Subaru Outback back on July 5, 2021. I was sold a $999 rust proofing includes exterior and interior protection package during the financing. I called my finance manager who sold me that to cancel it the next day. She agreed to do it. I never made an appointment to do this $999 service and she told me that it’ was going to be cancelled and will be refunded or credit to my Subaru loan principal. Fast forward today 11/5/2021, I still have not gotten a refund and the dealership was bought by another owner. Still the same people work there including my finance manager who sold me the service. She never replied to my email at all , but I got hold of her General manager and he sent email to the old group and waiting for them to reply back. It’s almost 4 months now. I had a feeling the Finance manager never cancelled it . With this new Subaru ownership, do I still have a case to refund my $999 ? I have all the proof contracts with me and the service was not even done. BTW, this is Subaru Kenosha , WI and now owned by Subaru Zeigler of Kenosha.

Finance managers exploit customers to sell after market products. I have had several cases where the customer is told "you have to buy a service contract to protect the vehicle, or the bank will not finance." It sounds like that happened in your situation.

Read the details of the VSC and GAP contracts as to cancellation, that will provide instructions. Also, putting the requests in writing via email / certified letter is better than a phone call because now you have a record of your efforts and their inaction.

The finance guy at Toyota told me my bank said I had to have warranties to get the car, and I wanted it so bad. Come to find out I call my bank( where I was pre approved) and the the dealer lied I didn’t need them, ALSO he 3rd partied me through the dealership upping my interest rate and has me paying 10k on warranties 20k more than what the cars worth. I had to call the dealership to cancel, which i went in and signed some paper work. It's been 4 months and my loan balance is still the same. No refund yet. Currently, I'm talking to the manager to get some update on why it's taking so long. It's been a week since I talked to the gm but still no update. Is it time to get a lawyer? Who am I suing exactly? The dealership or the extended warranty company, which I don't even know the name of?

A got a question I live in northern California sold my vehicle to a Toyota dealership and the financial manager told me that if I have any warranty on the car I can get a refund back so I went to the dealership where I bought the car asked for the warranty refund on gap, tire, and dent protection and they said they could not give me a refund untill they see paperwork from the bank that I loan for the car saying it got paid. Hi, If they will not process it, you can call the administrator for the products directly and ask them to process the cancelation. You should also make the request in writing to the finance manager so they cannot deny it later. I purchased a maintenance plan to cover 48 months. I just sold the car after 6 months and went there to request a refund for gap and maintenance plan. Dealer ship is only giving me %37 back of what I paid for the plan.. as for the gap they refuse to give me a number and are telling me just to sign the paperwork. The refund depends on the terms of the plan. You can call the plan administrator and ask them what the correct amount is.

Try a DMV complaint, and/or call the warranty administrator to explain the status. Ask them if they have issued the refund, because often the refund goes to the dealer, and the dealer will keep it until they are pressured to return it.

You can probably get a pro-rated refund. Contact the administrator, who will be named on the contracts for the GAP, Extended service plan and the tire car plan, and ask them what you need to do to cancel. Yes, 90 days is usually the time frame where the dealer does not get a commission if the plan is cancelled within that time frame.

I have a question I canceled my extended warranty a week after I purchased my car sign the cancellation paperwork fast forward almost 2 months later . If there is still a loan on the car at the time the warranty administrator issues the refund, the refund usually is send to the lender, and the loan balance is reduced by the refund amount. That is different than the refund being applied to the payments themselves. Check the account statement for the loan to see if any refund was applied to the balance.

If a bank required an extended warranty, it must include the cost in the Finance Charge line on the Reg Z disclosure and the APR would zoom ski high. Reg Z violations are very serious so don’t be fooled into thinking the bank required the warranty.

As long as you take action asap you should be able to get a full credit to the lien holder (the bank) - you usually have at least 30 days if not 45 to et a full refund. If not let me know what state you are in and I will try to find a lawyer for you. Make sure you put the request in writing to the dealer and warranty administrator.

@@redpillg566 you should contact the warranty company and ask if a warranty cancel request was made by the dealer. Your contract should have the number of the warranty company. If they have not received the request then you need to go in person and make it happen. The dealer will try their hardest to not send the cancellation request (including refusing to send it by putting it off and not answering calls). The dealer has to pay back the money for the warranty, so it’s in their best interest to not let you cancel. I would also send an email stating you want to cancel your warranty. This way you have a paper trail and it pushes them to actually send the cancellation request.

The warranty itself will have cancelation instructions. If they did not give you a copy of all of the warranty contract paperwork, I suggest you email the dealer, so you have it in writing, that you are canceling, and also, call the warranty company and explain what happened and ask what you need to do to cancel.

Never ever buy an extended warrenty through the dealer. Go find your own coverage and pay them direct. A dealer decides what will be covered. Their warrenty company only administers the plan. I learned that one the hard way. And it also financed into the loan so you are stuck with it. Go find your own company. Do your on research and due diligence and you should feel much better about it.

I had good luck with a Route 66 service contract purchased through PenFed years ago. It took some arguing but I got a new engine put in an old GMC Envoy. Agreed as to buying separate if you can find a good one.

If you have a lawyer who does not know who to handle the claim, that might happen. However, using the consumer protection laws and making the right arguments, your lawyer should be able to make the dealer pay your legal fees... that is how we do.

That is a common lie and I have never heard of a lender requiring the purchase of an extended warranty. I suggest you call the administrator who is named on the extended warranty and request instructions on how to cancel it, if that is what you want to do. You can also file a MVA/DMV complaint.
