Wow, thanks for the memories. I can still hear "Long Tall Glasses" and see Dancin' Harry in my mind's eye, gyrating to "I know I can dance, I can DANCE! I can really hit the floor!" Those were the days, my friend. I remember Darnell Hillman's son coming out on the floor in one of those playoff games, dancing with Harry. It was such fun, back then.

It really was! I am retiredd and in Florida, and I still am an avid Pacers fan, largely due to those great ABA days. I remember that one of the playoff games got on network tv, and the announcer said something like, "Oh look! They have their own version of Dancin' Harry. Wait a minute! That IS Dancin' Hartry!" They had a hard time believing that the Hicks from Hoosierland actually had the genuine article. @@hoophierarchy

Well... It worked. The nuggets got an NBA title last year and the pacers are still searching for a championship since they were in the ABA in 1973

Oh, and they traded what would've been the 2nd overall pick in the 1984 draft to Portland for center Tom Owens. Blazers with that pick took Sam Bowie. And then the Chicago Bulls at no. 3 took a guard out of North Carolina...

THIS IS THE PACERS CURSE THAT HAS DOGGED THEM ALL THE WAY TO THE NBA!! Think about it... late 70's-entire 80's they were pathetic, early to mid 90's with Reggie Miller they had competitive teams, but someone or something always stood in the way whether it was Larry bird, Jordan, the Knicks, pr shaqs magic. Then they finally get to the finals but run into Shaq and Kobe. Then the malice at the palace, when it looked like they were finally gonna win a championship that year. The paul George/roy Hibbett led pacers who couldn't get past the 3 heats un the early 2010's. Now, with the best pacer team since 2014, they're currently down 0-2 to the Knicks in round 2.
