@@bluyu Sora is actually fairly nerfed in Smash when compared to his games. His drive forms and his form changes (specifically Ultima) would make Sora in the top 3 characters. For instance: any of those forms would be game breaking. - Valor gives increased jump height, movement speed, longer combos, and hits harder - all at the cost of losing magic. - Wisdom gives longer range and much faster movement speed at the cost of losing melee combat. - Master practically gives both of what Valor and Wisdom give without the costs. - Final does what Master does, but also adds in gliding and turns every movement Sora makes into an attack. -Anti gets rid of magic, but increases movement speed - has extremely long combos - hits hard - and has plenty of AOE attacks. - Ultima would turn the entire stage into Sora's hitbox (a lot of form changes would do similar things, albeit not as badly as Ultima). So, in retrospect to all that, Sora was nerfed really hard. And yes, the same can be said about practically any DLC character.

@@psycomachia yup, went on UFD to take a look after posting because I've been hearing all sorts of wonky stuff (and realized I never confirmed for myself. It hits from behind because of the move reaching yes, but also because he's intangible for the first frame (causing the counter instead of trade) Edit: Though Sakurai seemed to believe it activating from the behind was a feature as he mentioned it in the direct (wording it carefully so not to have another "no back hit on Lighting buster")

It seems to me his counter tries to solve the problem some other counters have, that being disjoints not functioning properly at close range. Instead of facing the attack, Sora faces the attackER every time. You might be able to get a similar result with duck hunt, let me do some testing. Edit: yes! This is in fact how Sora’s counter works. Even when a hit lands in front of him from a disjoint, he will turn around to deliver the counter. I’d say it’s less broken and more of something that every counter should have. I’m willing to bet had you successfully b-reversed that counter, you would’ve just gotten hit, the counter wouldn’t have happened.

I think - if my memory is not shit -that in the demo video of sora, the counter triggers ( in the back ) with a certain spacing it'll be maybe more obvious by watching the counter frame by frame on ultimateframedata

@@mlindquist8942 Lol, being on the receiving end of a rush down character who fights you (& their 20 million demons on the stage with you) is by its nature an unfun interaction to be on the receiving end of. Sora isn't using a "broken mechanic", he is using a counter. & counter is the answer for slower characters like Sora who don't posses frame -3 areial options to oppose character's, like Sheik, pressure. So it is a very fair interaction. If Sheik had an issue with it, she should have factored in the enemy counter during her dopamine inducing god combo.

Since i've effectively dropped all other characters to solo main Sora, i honestly can say going against another Sora is never annoying for me bc if they are worst than me they just lose & if they are better than me i lose, but the losing shows me how to improve my own Sora. That said Sora players really have thinned out online. I don't see that many others nowadays.
