*The beauty of this place astounds you, and on the field lays an old book, signed by an Eli*
"Divers are now required to keep journals on them after the Chaser expedition failures of the second layer, so at least if we die in this ash-fueled hell people will be able to give this as a form of memorabilia to our families, but the ones we hold dear will know the true place of our burial, these gray sands. However, when approaching the old architecture of those who once walked here before us, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye, a small, damaged door almost submerged under the ash. Looking for ways in, I rushed over as fast as I could, and started digging away at the ash with my own hands like a child at a beach. What now was before me was an almost rotten door, with some form of purple light emanating from behind. Feeling cautious, I tried to gently open the door, however, the slightest push from my hand caused it to fall over, revealing a long winding hallway luminated by strange purple lanterns hanging from the ceiling. However, the only amount of ash in the hallway was caused by me opening the door, it seemed like it would be a safe haven. I walked down the long hallway, feeling as if someone was watching me, but they weren’t alive. As if it was a guardian from life's past. Every step away from the dunes of ash felt like steps to a place to be safe.
At long last I reached the end, and what a sight… how could a place like this be this close to a fierce hellscape? A small field of purple flowers on jaded grass, near the field was a small hot spring with black rocks. It was foolish of me to try to grab one… but it wasn’t burning. It finally came to me, these used to be embers, what allowed these to cool? Suddenly, the presence I felt before was now in numbers, welcoming me. It seems I’ve not been the first to be here, in this peaceful hide away. But what if it could be more than a hideaway, I can practically hear the memories singing to me, I can’t understand them though. I’ve been scared of death in those dunes for so long… Maybe if I died here, my family would know that I lay in a peaceful field of flowers, with others like me in this very spot. This place is beautiful, why not rest here forever? You can pass through from here back to your journey if you truly seek damnation, but think now, my fellow divers and travelers. For every person who knows this true beauty, a new flower comes to the field, adding onto beauty with new purpose.
Come now.
Rest with us.
Rest with us.
Rest with us."
