That's your takeaway? I think she is a talent beyond the normal… yes. … but what about a guitarist without the sense to check to see if she is ready? It isn't something that she had to make sure it started… AND THEN she could take a drink! No… she had to play the entire song. Who knows if the song's ending leads into another song? It doesn't even matter if the guitarist was following another person when he started? That other person should have checked… then the guitarist should have checked, too!

@@p4our587 I beg to differ. Emotions have a great role to play in humor. If you feel camaraderie, love, or friendship with someone if they were to, say I don't know, maybe decide to mess with you by starting your band's song when you don't expect it you might find it to be humorous rather than cruel. They both smiled at eachother afterwards and she posted it without negativity. She wasn't treated poorly, she was among friends. If how you've been responding is any indication, it would make sense for you to not understand this as if your KZbin responses are similar to your irl conversation skills, the concept of a friend may be foreign to you. And for the record, no. A man dying of dehydration isn't funny. A small helpless child falling over or getting knocked over by something however, does bring me great joy.

I concur. Idk why everyone is saying, “He looked at her and smiled. It was a prank or a joke.” No. It wasn’t. He did not look over at her. He starts playing, tilts his head a little to the right at who I’m thinking is the other guitarist or bassist on stage and then turns to the audience. Never once actually looking in her direction. Am I the only one that has eyeballz? 👀. 😆 But it’s true. I don’t get why he didn’t check in? I get mistakes can happen, yet it could also be thoughtlessness. Either way, she seems unharmed and laughs it off. Obviously she feels the same way since she posted this. And I get it’s about her coming in as well and not letting it screw up the song. But I think it’s more about him not being checking in and her saving the day. Cheers

In a professional band, it's no one's job to make sure everyone's ready, it's everyone's job always be ready. Nothing looks more amateur than a band that has several seconds of dead air time after every song while everybody gets a drink and everybody make sure everybody's ready... Usually a setlist will be broken up into three or four song chunks after which the band. will say something to the crowd then bust into the next group of songs playing each one immediately following the previous one until time to interact with the crowd again.... The young lady simply tried to sneak in a quick drink or forgot that the next song was going to immediately roll. Whoever is not ready is at fault not the person who starts the song.

Definitely doing that from now on

No one ever pays attention to us on stage. It's like we're just a drum machine sometimes.

this is one of my biggest fears between each song. Do I have enough time to take a drink? Will I spill my drink if I don't? I never know. This is why you always have songs that have at least 10 or more seconds of another instrument as an intro haha. Or don't drink on songs that drums start.
