Suspects should not be allowed to question their own children or any other child. If a child needs to be put on the stand, the suspect on trial needs to allow a court appointed attorney or one of their choice for the questioning. Have we learned NOTHING from CPS interviewing kids in front of their parents?? Alisa here. Thank you Unseen for a great video. I find it interesting how the story is covered from different views as it is summarized. The question asked a lot in the comments was about the all male jury. I was able to sit in on jury selection and witnessed it happen. When the judge read all 11 charges and asked if there was reason someone could not sit on this jury, almost every hand that went up was a woman. SA victims, DV victims, or having experience with a narcissist, made women not able to sit on this jury. Arden being manipulated…you must remember this man manipulated the police and the courts. Those grown adult professionals trained to protect us. Arden didn’t have a chance. For 16 years, he manipulated me and twisted my reality. I could never blame her. @@v_doll This case takes place in the USA, where everyone is given more rights than most other countries. The man in question is allowed to represent himself and actually have a defense, not merely be silenced and considered guilty from the very beginning. It's called giving everyone a fair trial and allowing the victims to face their perpetrators in a safe court of law. Sure it could potentially add more trauma, but it could also help them face their trauma and help lock up their tormentor. I'd rather have everyone be given a fair trial, than to be given judgement by the biased emotional minority, where you can get put in jail for merely disagreeing with someone. At age of 10 I had to testify in my parents divorce court, which included me having to tell the abuse I witnessed at home. It was horrible. Both parents were disappointed with me. One for saying too much, the other for not saying enough. Loving them both, I couldn't please either. Both parents were watching my testimony, staring at me - I was horrified !!! Children should never testify like this. Statements can be taken with child psychologists present and attorneys, and what not, but to be forced to speak while the perp is watching you is most horrific. Laws need to change.

“I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” Joel 2:25. Such a frightening story. I’m so very happy for their happiness today.

I was so happy to see this since I actually watched this trial. Many of these trials are older. I’m so glad to hear from the Mom and daughter and know that they’re moving past this. And that the mom survived and was so brave. Glad she’s helping other DV victims. Great ending to something so tragic.

What an INCREDIBLY strong woman. Speaking so forcefully and clearly while being interrogated by her r*pist. Full respect. Same with her daughter, who has an amazing role model.

I’m so glad they got away from this monster and got the happy family they deserve in the end! I cannot believe these monsters are allowed to question their victims in court- should not be allowed to happen ever.

what a strong woman and i feel so bad for her children because even though they shouldn't feel guilty for being used by the man who should've loved them more than anything, it's impossible to make the brain believe that and it will take them all their lives to heal from that trauma. i only wish them health and peace and that jeff gives them the healthy love their deserve

We must be glad.. Even though the system failed this mother and family, one time.. they didnt again and justice was served. A family gets to have their mother, and grow old and be destined to become great. So happy to hear this happy ending. For the mom to also acknowledge her daughters role and understand that children will be children and still love and describe her daughter as the most sweetest human being.. that is the utter most MOM thing she couldve said. Stay Blessed guys. Your family is beautiful !!

I just want you to know I appreciate how hard it must have been to do a sponsorship, I'm so happy it's audible, the work you do is outstanding. At 53 I have learnt things from you on teaching family especially grandchildren various ways to protect themselves. Myself too. A lot of these stories I usually don't make it past 1 to 3 minutes before I have to turn it off. There are also times I want to know what survivors go through, I'm able to know here because of how gentle you are. Well done, and knowing how you research makes me feel I know you all a little better and how passionate you all are. 🙏 truly, thank you ❤❤❤.

Can’t I,anyone the misplaced but monumental guilt Arden must feel. It’s EVIL to use a child like that. Arden did nothing wrong. That girl literally just loved her parents. That’s her “crime”. Loving her parents, and trusting her father. Something every child should be able to do. And he used that trust to use her as a pawn in his game. Arden… you are guilt free in this. You hold zero blame. You literally just loved your family and trusted your father. That is literally all you did. Your father CHOSE to use you. He chose to put you and your siblings lives in danger so you couldn’t interrupt his plans to assault your mother. I just feel awful that along with all this also comes the mental health issues associated with being so betrayed by your own parent like that… I hope therapy is a constant in your life as long as you need it. I hope you have a great therapist.

It boggles my mind how this guy was allowed to interrogate the family he terrorized,, manipulated, and in Alisa's case, tortured. How in the world is this legal? That judge was right: Trevor is indeed a monster. My utmost respect to Alisa for her courage. I pray she and all her children are continuing to find the healing they deserve.
@alexandracyr56476 ай бұрын
There needs to be a law put in place so that this never happens again. The fact that a victim has to have the actual perpetrator interrogate her is beyond belief.

I think it would be cathartic to be in her place. She gets to look him in the eye and say unequivocally that he hurt her. He did this, and he deserves punishment. In a courtroom, full of people who will see the truth, and have the capability to actually punish him? Damn, that must have been an amazing moment for her soul.
