I think if you were trying to remove a partner from your life accusing them of admitting to murder would be one way to do it. The timing of her accusation would make someone justifiably concerned. I think the ex husband had to be the mastermind but this "witness" is not someone I would immediately believe to be telling the truth.

I had been in a violent and abusive marriage for thirteen years. When I finally got the courage to leave him for good, I got an apartment, moved out of the house then filed for divorce. That’s when the violence escalated to the point that I was convinced he was going to kill me. I would call the police because he was in front of my apartment calling me on the phone and threatening to blow my brains out. I literally looked like death warmed over because I was in a constant state fear and couldn’t keep any food down. When the police came I was shaking in fear and crying while telling them what was happening. They chuckled and said, if anything really happens give us a call. Hopefully by now, police officers have been trained to respond differently

@kenw2225 It's possible for a detective to go into an interview with skepticism, or even anger, without immediately being overtly dismissive. Not only does that sort of behavior erode the public's trust (and importantly, possibly a jury's), but it also makes witnesses less likely to cooperate. It's just not effective. And it's not his job to pass judgment on the situation. It's his job to gather information in as impartial a way as possible. If he can't maintain a professional and effective demeanor, I see that as a problem. The detective's opinion of a witness, person of interest, or suspect needs to take a back seat.

RIP Mellisa. Sad for her dear innocent daughter, she must be forever traumatized. 😢 The wife is trying not to get killed and why should she also have to deal with that investigator’s bully tactics? His dismissiveness is the last thing that should be applied to a victim of DV. Doesn’t matter what his problem is he was in the wrong and he shouldn’t act like that toward her. The last thing she needs is to be dismissed and treated like a liar. She’s probably in danger for her life whether or not she’s staying doesn’t matter. Violent men NEVER change. 😢

@@llamamama2910 most DV is two people, a woman and man beating each other. the highest rate, but not most cases is lesbians. women beat men more in unilateral cases, but that's still not the biggest group of case - which is bilateral - 2 people hitting each other. We know about their motivations, and we know from longitudinal studies that it is often people who were always violent, meeting and dating/marrying each other

whoever killed her had the key to the house and more than likely caught her sleeping when she was stabbed. also a knife and not a gun tends to point towards the murder being very very personal. a hitman is impersonal and would more than likely use a gun. also there was no forced entry, the person felt comfortable and when he leaves he locks the door.

Or the killer entered the same way her daughters boyfriend did with a credit card. Or through the back door if it was left open. I don't agree that knives are supposed to be personal. An army trained killer will use a knife because its silent.
@jhernandez7132014
@jhernandez7132014 3 ай бұрын
@CT2507 exactly, an army trained killer. I get where you're coming from and would not dismiss your thought process. Everything goes when it comes to murder but in every murder case, there is context. Who had the motive? Who had the means? Was this random? Was she targeted? What does the scene say? How many crimes have been committed of the same nature within that community? Why leave the door closed when leaving? How did the person know that it was only going to be her in there? Did he know she was sin there, or was this a failed burglary attempt? If it was, why did he close the door? Nothing was taken? Someone who uses a credit card to open a door is less likely to be military trained. You want to be swift and go for the kill. As opposed to struggling with opening the door. Can you open a door with a credit card? Have you tried? I have. Not as easy as they make it seem. Typically, this all comes down to statistics in order to get into the mind of the killer. Or comspirators. According to criminal psychology, typically, a knife or strangulation is more "passionate driven," hence why it leans towards the personal. But yes, a gun can be used as well. A credit card can be used as well. A person with a military background can be in the mix.

Hearing this prosecutor announce in that dramatic slow voice that the likelihood of the DNA being from someone else was “ONE in THIRTY. NINE. MILLION” made me want to punch a wall. 1/39 million is piss poor for a DNA sample in 2015. Modern DNA samples are exclusive to within quadrillions to 1. 1/39 million would mean there are 10 other people in the United States who could’ve contributed that exact sample, and hundreds more around the world. Given this man’s own family members also live in the same town, that fact alone seems like reasonable doubt. Moral of the story: don’t listen to prosecutors who selectively emphasize dna statistics. They’re probably full of it.
