WHEN THE MUSIC'S OVER - Part 1 (The Doors) MOTIF XS7

Attention all Motif XS owners!
The Vox Continental sounds I used on this video were samples that I purchased online, and loaded into the MOTIF.
If you are looking for a decent "Vox-ish" sound for your Motif using only the factory preset voices, it is possible with a bit of tweaking.
Start with the voice called "Tiny Combo Bars 1"
Make the following adjustments to this voice:
Equalizer:
Low Gain: -8.63
Mid Freq: +1.23k
Mid Gain: +12.00
Mid Q: 0.7
High Gain: +5.25
Reverb type: SPX stage
Reverb level: ~58
Insert Effect A: Amp Sim 1
Overdrive = 15%
Vin_tube
Combo
Output = 50%
Adjust the sliders (drawbars) to the roughly the following:
84 - 92 - 49 - 73 - 127 - 127 - 127 - 127
Put the mod wheel up halfway for vibrato.
*Adjust the amount of Mid Freq to change the tone, or use the first four sliders.

I actually can't read sheets, I know my scales, and chords but that's about as far as it goes. I learned this song by listening to it many times and playing along!

Great Bro, Iwas 16 when first heard it(4 track car stereo). Vocalist/ lead ax in a band. Hearing the intro blew my mind was first time smoking a jay. Never imagined I would ever be able to play it. I suffered a stroke and left side paralyzed can't play ax any longer. However, forming a band currently, and learning songs on keyboards, (only melody, left hand paralyzed), thanks to you I now play this rather well. I can play the first part of this but I get messed up and don’t play it the best way but it works. I can’t do the grace notes without sliding whereas you play them a better way for this particular song. Great job

Whilst I admit that I am definitely no piano player (I wish I was) but I have to just point out a minor correction if I may..... On the bass line, the second repeat should have a double tap on the pinkie finger low note. That's the only thing I can really say. Other than that! AWESOME!!!!!!

Starting out, it was a slow process, you have to learn the 2 parts separately and then slowly put them together, one note at a time. Eventually, it just starts to make sense and you get faster at it. Start by playing small sections of the right hand and match up the left hand notes in the right places.

Unfortunately, it would take a long time for me to transcribe this since I don't know sheet music.. but if there are any sections in particular that you are having trouble with I might be able to help with the notes.

The Doors are really one of the reasons I got into music to start. This is really gold. Your hand independence is especially admirable. It certainly was one of Manzarek's outstanding appitudes. absolutely amazing mate yamaha motif xs are unbelievable for emulating vintage keyboard sound piss all over nords and korg workstations that sound is exactly as Ray Manzarek played on his Gibson keys over 40 years ago the CP70 and Wurlis are amazing ive never played a workstation so accurate and i happen to own a CP70B im a believer that digital emulations cannot beat original vintage instruments but the Motif takes some beating

Hmm, it is a tricky chord to play for sure if you don't have long fingers. It will probably feel really uncomfortable at first but after a while, you fingers will get used to the stretch and it will be easy!
