I dont know if other people would want this, but I have a request of Archspire. Instead of trying to find one of the 3 people in the world that can replace the drum find a competent prog drummer. Then release a sluggy doom album in the style of archspire. Then they could have their opeth moment. Opeth became a acid rock band. Archspire can become a doom band. Then they'd have new fans that would say things like I dont like their old stuff and the real ogs will be like when will the blast come back.

Kezia was the peak for sure! Not sure why their proggier stuff just hasn't gripped me the same way, I'm sure there are some gems in there but it mostly just became tougher to tell them apart from other bands in that big 2000s-2010s prog boom. Kezia still stands out as fairly unique though, still revisit it regularly and it only gets better with time. Any more up to date PTH fans want to recommend their next closest album to that original style? Willing to give them another chance and everything after Fortress is a blur so I could just be sleeping on another masterpiece.
@Damienpsinha2 күн бұрын
Highly recommend Volition. Even though it's really different from kezia stuff, I would say it doesn't sound that proggy, just maybe a little less heavy. The riffs/songwriting is so enjoyable though!

@@Damienpsinha Thanks for the rec, two listens in and it's rapidly growing on me. This is actually a lot closer to their original sound than I thought it would be and damn can they shred now.
