Hello Andrea, I watched this video again tonight and it reminded me that I used to really dislike the smell of Patchouli until I saw this video the first time. I tried it in a different deodorant recipe I had been using, and really loved the results. Now I use Patchouli for most any skin irritation or rash, as well as deodorant. I love it! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful videos.

Laurie Hale, I love to hear this! So many people associate the aroma of patchouli with the hippie era but the essential oil is so different than the perfumes of that time. I'm happy that you've found a 'friend' with this amazing oil!

Would the green leave a stain on white clothes etc? I guess you would put this on with your fingers? Would love to know how you would make a roll on with the natural ingredients and essential oils. Like a gel based one.
@aromatherapyoils4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mona! Yes, this blend can be applied with your fingers and as long as you don't mind the pasty texture in your armpits at first, it dries pretty quick. We haven't found it to be staining to clothing, but we would recommend testing a small amount first just to be sure. If you would like a more solid blend that can be used in a roll-on tube, here is a great recipe that we love: blog.aromahead.com/natural-deodorant-essential-oils-nl 💜

Hi Andrea i love this recipe can i add beeswax to make i a solid deodorant and if so, how much beeswax in ratio to the coconut oil, clay and arrow root? thank you!!!
@aromatherapyoils4 жыл бұрын
Hi Anna! We've never made a solid deodorant of this recipe but if you like to experiment with that our guide for solid deodorant is a 3:1 ratio of carriers to beeswax. Here’s a recipe from the Aromahead Blog for a natural deodorant with beeswax that we think you will enjoy! blog.aromahead.com/natural-deodorant-essential-oils-nl

I went on line to look for the essential oils for the body butter and the headache inhaler. I did not write down the latin names for the essential oils. I want to make sure that I purchase the correct essential oils. Is there any way you could provide these names? I did participate in the webinar yesterday. So, if you have the time, let me know. I appreciate this very much. There are several essential oils that I am not familiar with, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maggie Morel, if you didn't want to use your fingers you can use a cotton round to apply the blend to your underarms.

Does this stain your clothing since it has the green clay?
@aromatherapyoils4 жыл бұрын
Hi @Robyn Williams! That's a great question- yes, Green Clay can be potentially staining to lighter colored fabrics. You could substitute White Clay instead in this recipe if this would be a concern. 💜

hi andrea! i love this so much! my dad has a lot of allergies however and was looking for a spray deodorant that actually works. i tried a couple recipes but nothing seems to work :/ would you by any chance have a suggestion of how to make a spray deodorant? i have tried rose water, aloe vera, witch hazel, frankincense, patchouli and ylang ylang. it does well for half a day then he starts to sweat and it goes south lol
@PinkinPA7 жыл бұрын
virginia nehme I also have severe allergies and what I do is break off a tiny piece of crystal deodorant stick then add to a spray bottle with some witch hazel and a pinch of pink sea salt. The crystal will disolve. This could help.
@aromatherapyoils6 жыл бұрын
Virginia, how great that you're trying difference recipes for your dad. Natural deodorants are about helping to block the bacteria that causes body odor not stopping the act of perspiring. I find that when using natural deodorant that I still need to apply it a few times in a 24 hour period, especially when it is a very warm day or I'm exerting myself exercising, or other types of manual labor. You might try using an alcohol base, like a cheap vodka or grain alcohol. This also helps to keep the bacteria under control so that there is less odor when perspiring happens.

Hi mam andrea, can i use virgin coconut oil for this recipe? Actually i already made one but the consistency is a too runny/liquid. 😢 help!
@aromatherapyoils3 жыл бұрын
Hi MGrace! Coconut oil will melt at 76 degrees F, so if you live in a warmer climate, this product could get a bit soft or runny. Storing the finished product in a cool place could help, or you can try adding Beeswax to your recipe, to help harden it and prevent melting. Here are a couple of recipes from the Aromahead Blog we think you'll enjoy: -blog.aromahead.com/2014/10/20/natural-solid-deodorant-recipe -blog.aromahead.com/natural-deodorant-essential-oils-nl

It is ok to use with light clothing, but if you're really worried you could always use lavender in place of the patchouli essential oil and white clay instead of the green.

Hi Andrea, thanks for the video. Is there an issue with the deodorant leaving residue on clothes? It sure is dark. I made some with Bentonite clay at one time and the color was fine with clothes.

Can the clay be substituted for Baking Soda?
@aromatherapyoils6 жыл бұрын
You can use baking soda in place of the green clay. The texture will change just a bit and I've found that some people can have a slight skin irritation with the baking soda. You would just need to try it and see how your skin responds, AussieWitchCerberus Bindweed. :o)
