Most of the market manipulation issues are ebay being lazy. Why cant they make it more clear that sales didnt go through? Ebay can make the same fix to the algo you did. This is on them, wish we heard a little more criticism towards ebay on this. Crazy that they have to be told about this issue.

Welllll....ebay is really sukn with this new managed payments system they made eveyone switch to. As a seller I'm waiting 5 to 7 days now to get paid on an item as before it was instantly in paypal and i had access to reinvest the money right away. I've actually cancelled 3 sales on ebay recently as i don't want to wait a week to get paid. Looking for another platform to sell on until ebay speeds up the process. And i was a top seller. They lost me

Ebay managed payments is one of the best things they have done it has been a huge success and now that they have added a option to sell cards under 20 bucks for .51 cents with tracking no other platform will be able to compete.

@@ohno1017 I get paid faster now with managed payments then before and they take the fees right out takes a day only for me to get paid which is more common. It definitely is regraded as one of the best things eBay has ever done which is why they are only growing no other plalform can come close. I wish there were other options but there really isn't one that's close for sportscards especially with the new shipping method no one can compete with that. That was a game changer for anyone selling cards props on eBay for finally improving

@Chris the fees are really not much higher then any other place I mean amazon has higher fees yet. With the new shipping method for sports cards I can tolerate them a bit more but it is still s bit steep. As for the faster payments everyone I know and have talked to love the managed payments and they get paid faster so I would say maybe that dude's bank or something is the issue.

I was a top seller...and with that came instant payment. As soon as the buyer paid for item money was in paypal and could tranfer to debit card instantly. U gotta be ebay spys trying to talk up managed payments. I now wait 5 to 7 days to get payment processed. U go tell your superiors at ebay it suks...bc u know it dose

type the year, brand and player into the search bar on ebay. Hit Search. Then scroll down the page and on the left hand side, you'll see a tab that says 'Sold Listings'. Hit that tab.

This bar graph shows peaks at the start of free agency , around draft day, mini camp, and the last pre season game, the dip is the day after the first game of the season. This is the CLASSIC BUY on the RUMMER and sell on the NEWS. The only thing that will mess up this bar graph is the times we live in today with big money buying everything PSA 10 or BGS 10.

Is there a way to get truly real time data? 2) The trends you showed are interesting but the rebound in those prices in March and again right as the season started happened to coincide with two inflection points in card prices overall. What's worse is the auction houses inflating the sales of cards they own, I see the same card at Goldin Auction and PWCC get sold and resold around 4-5 months apart with a 3 to 4X increase in value. This drives all the cards up in that card category. Then I see them selling that category of that players cards a lot.

The only problem I can see with this analysis, is that last year we had Covid starting in early March, & this brought spikes to cards, just like it brought spikes to other collectables like exclusive high end Lego building toys. I'm no expert in cards like Geoff by any means, but I think this should be something to consider.

That's been going on in the hobby with 3-4 higher prices than a bid and they could have a reserve on the card. This especially happens with jordan, lebron, brady, mahomes, hank aaron, mantle, Koufax, roberto clemente, and other hofers. Just wondering when time is about to expire on ebay I've seen 5 seconds added when it 00 left this is especially in probstine and pwcc, Boyd, steve novella, and other houses. Why does this happen?

Goes by avgs so outliers dont really move the needle. Also the algorithm detects suspicious buys and flags them so most if not all have no impact on the avg on market movers. Its THE best tool ive found and i use frquently

I bet PSA does this in reverse, I saw Mahomes cards that were 7k plus sell for .99 cents from a "buy it now' option after the loss. I'm keeping in mind of PSA's rules for re-slabbing already PSA graded cards. PSA's policy is, that they regrade when they crack the card out, if its no longer a PSA10, they down grade the card and pay you the difference of the average of the recently sold for PSA 10's of that card. So if you want a new slab or your PSA10 has a crack in it, be careful, it might not be a PSA10 grade and PSA might be lowering the value with sham sales of .99 cent "buy it nows'

I have a question is there a way for the seller to somehow see my highest bid even when I could be winning the card for hours or sometimes days it seems like a lot of the time it gets pushed up to within .50 cents of my highest bid right at the end and I end up winning the card for much more than I thought I would have to pay like people jacked up the price without winning the bid to make me pay more not sure if I am just being paranoid and it's a coincidence any info would help thanks.

I just started collecting football cards jan 4 when i hit a prizm football herbert rpa 26of99,a silver herbert and a base,all in the same break for 35$..As i watched your video i know why the cards drop in price i feel ,just my own opinion that as more teams seasons end before,during,and after superbowl..Less people are fans of teams playing.Everyone still watches superbowl because its like a holiday or event to say bye til next year to football,but the hype dies as more teams are eliminated..Thats why the spike in interest in the game and cards occur..Their is preseason , a few months in to season ,and then goodt thing i see with football is you have the playoff race wildcard and playoffs.When the race to the playoffs start after 10th to 12 game til 2nd rond should be selling..A buffer window before the hike on game 3

2017 Mahomes cards are selling as high as they were 1 week after the AFC championship win, some higher. I would say from that point on late money came in thinking he would win because most cards doubled and tripled from the week leading up to the Super Bowl. This leaves me with a thought that most of those sales never got paid. The seller leading up to a championship game can never win, either your cards wins the big game and goes way up but you already sold it, or your card loses the big game and the buyer never pays it. Stay away from selling cards leading up to a big event is my opinion.

A championship doesn’t and shouldn’t define what a players greatness is. When will people realize this? It’s a TEAM game. This isn’t golf. This isn’t tennis. It’s a TEAM sport.
