Have you made a video on keeping the bat lagged back next to the shoulder? And how long you want to keep it next to the shoulder?

Hey Matt, hard to put this question into writing, but when your back leg is turning....and your hands begin to go palm up/palm down...when the hips finally "clear" and face toward the pitcher....are you, at that point, manipulating your hands to make the knob continue upward or is that happening naturally with the force of the lower body generating the swing? I guess put more simplistically, do you feel your hands taking over at all to continue being on path or is it the rotation of the lower body and upper body tilting which creates the final stages of the path? Thank you, if you see this....been a big help to me over the years!

After miggy won the triple crown, he was asked what’s the secret. His response ‘palm up’

I never realized how much of an impact the front leg being Unbent Or BENT has by the time it hits the ground I was trying to figure out what was causing my swing to be off and that was it.

Take a look at Trout's swing, he's not palm up palm down until after his belt buckle is facing the pitcher.

Where are his hands when he is palm up?

Great stuff as always. I find an easy way to teach this so the hitters stays connected is to think of maintaining the gap or distance between the elbows and keep it constant throughout the swing. Eliminates casting and bat drag and hitter will be palm up/palm down at impact.

Wait... So are you using the body to get palm up palm down or are you using your hands to get palm up palm down?

So, do you want the bat to drop down first and then rise up at the beggining of the swing. I have kids that keep swinging under the ball and i think its because they bat falls immediately into there swing and then they swing upwards because they want it to go over the fence.
@AntonelliBaseball3 жыл бұрын
They are probably either dropping their hands and swinging up or their rear elbow is getting forward too much and they lose their barrel.

@@AntonelliBaseball i will keep an eye out for that. Thank you so much for your advice. I watch your videos daily. I MUST SAY, your videos are so helpful. Excellent video, my issue is that I stop my motion after I start my swing. It's like I'm waiting to read where the ball is going and I make that stutter swing. If I can keep this technique in mind hope I can eliminate that issue.

Are you turning the barrel with your shoulder or your wrist?

Is there a good way to explain this to younger kiddos? Like 7/8? Something I can tell our 8U boys that would help them to understand that motion? THANKS!
