Good info! It would be helpful for people to see both a fertilized and non-fertilized to compare. This is pretty easy to tell, however people who are new to looking at it might not know for sure what they are or are not seeing.

loving that "Greene" screen! 🤣 This may be a silly question, but is it possible for the bullseye to be on the bottom side of the egg when it's in the bowl, or do they always float to the top so you can see it?

It is not necessary to check fertility if you have the room put them in the incubator. If you have 5 hens to 1 male and 3 quail per sq ft then fertility should not be an issue

Do you wash/clean/sanitize eggs before you incubate them, or do you recommend anyone do or not do it? Obviously a lot of it has to do with the conditions they're laid into (such as being either on wire racks or out in dirt, etc), I would assume, but looking online this seems to be such a viciously divisive subject that has so many people disagreeing on so many things about. It almost sounds like it doesn't matter what you do since everyone claims great hatch rates after "This one simple little trick"-esque stuff.

Males start slowing down at 8 months and very little to low fertility around 13 months
