Thank you for clarifying. May I know which is the correct one? a. Hello John. b. Hello, John.

Great question, Doreen! In the way that you are using the word (hello as a direct greeting), you use a comma (Hello, John.)

*Thank you very much! But what about the perpetual mystery of Oxford comma?*
@SWLF3 жыл бұрын
Ha! It is a controversial subject, isn't it? We hope to get into it in a video in the very near future on when NOT to use commas.

You would not believe how much of my time as an editor is spent dealing with commas, when they're put in all the wrong places or left out where they're needed. And people like to argue over them. I call it comma drama.
@SWLF3 жыл бұрын
Ha! Well, we're certainly trying to limit the comma drama. Thanks for the comment, gdwriter!
