Sir Is this trick work for these questions if yes then plz clear my doubts sir Find the greatest possible length which can be used to measure exactly the length 7cm 3m 85cm and 12m 95cm Three measuring rods are 64 Cm 80 Cm96 Cm in length Find the least of length that can be measured and exact number of times using any of the rods Find the least number of square tiles required to pave the ceiling of the room 15 m 17 cm long and 9 m 2 cm broad

1) The three given lengths are 7m = 700 cm 3m 85cm = 385 cm and 12m 95m = 1295 cm Now, the required length is HCF of 700, 385 and 1295. 700 = 22 × 52 × 7 385 = 5 × 7 ×11 1295 = 5 × 7 × 37 HCF (700, 385 and 1295) = 5 × 7 = 35 The greatest possible length is 35 cm. 2) Length of the three measuring rods are 64cm, 80cm and 96cm, respectively. ∴ Length of cloth that can be measured an exact number of times = LCM (64, 80, 96) Prime factorization: 64 = 2^6 80 = 2^4 × 5 96 = 2^5 × 3 ∴ LCM = product of greatest power of each prime factor involved in the numbers = 2^6 × 3 × 5 = 960cm = 9.6m 3) Given, length =15 m 17 cm = 1517 cm and width = 9 m 2 cm = 902 cm Area of ceiling =(1517×902) =1368335 cm^2 The dimension of square tile required to pave the ceiling =HCF of {1517,902} = 41 Area of tile =1681 cm ^2 Number of square tile required = 1368334/1681 = 814

This question is an LCM question Each pack of pencil has 24 pencils. Let us say you buy x packs of pencils. You will have a total of 24x pencils. Each pack of crayon has 32 crayons. Let us say you buy y packs of crayons. You will have a total of 32y crayons. You buy full packs and have the same number of pencils and crayons. So, number of pencils = number of crayons 24x = 32y 24x is a multiple of 24 and 32y is a multiple of 32. If 24x = 32y, we have to get such a number which is both a multiple of 24 and 32. So, common multiple The smallest such number is the LCM. Hi Jay, Here in this particular question we are using LCM because the black marbles is repeating in intervals of 13 and purple marbles is repeating in intervals of 25. We need to find out when these two meet or the smallest number of marbles of each colour she has, i.e., the least common multiple of 13 and 25.

First of all thankyou for your tip But Can you give me explanation of last question where it is asking for same number of marbles But You have find the LCM

We will have used HCF if we knew the total number of marbles. *An alternative explanation to the same question* Here in the last question all that we know is that we are making sets of 13 and sets of 25 and we know that the number of marbles of both the colours is the same. So, if there x sets of black, she will have 13x marbles. And if there are y sets of purple, she will have 25y marbles. We know 13x = 25y and x and y are integers. Because 13 and 25 are coprime, the smallest values that x and y can take are 25 and 13 respectively. So, least number of marbles of each kind Tamanna has is 13 * 25 = 325 marbles.
