In case anyone wants to know why it's like that, it's because "on" comes from an old word meaning "man" (hom, from latin homō). It’s probably inspired by Germanic languages, even in English they used to say "man", which is now "one", as is "one does not simply walk into Mordor". It’s also similar to "a gente" in portuguese.

Great video. What about non-subject pronouns in familiar speech? On se… can be used for reflexive, I believe. Are there any other cases where nous as an object can be replaced?

The most challenging about learning a language on your own is to stay motivated. So keep a journal with all your practice 🙂 To answer your question we say : J'ai travaillé toute la journée / J'ai étudié toute la journée. Let me know if you have a question, I try to answer comments once a day.

"on est prêts," my mind really fights against that pluralization, jaja. but I get it. Also, "l'architecture," like "hiérarchie," very difficult to pronounce, I kept replaying you saying the word! merci beaucoup!

I have to say that this rule is incredibly confusing! I was not sure if I should include it but I like my lessons to be as complete as possible :) The hardest part in "architecture" is the R followed by CH - 2 very different sounds from the similar sounds in English. But I am sure you will get it Paul 🙂

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane in general french concordance rules are very, umm . .. interesting! Every time I think I've got it, there's another set of exceptions or little sub-rules, like on est prêts/es or like invariable verbs like se faire/se laisser which I was recently learning. Doubtless many more I haven't gotten to et. really much harder than Spanish with its rules very consistent 98% of the time . . . bah bien je continue
