Love it, besonders den zweiten Teil, in dem du über normale Verben erklärt hast, die manchmal das Präteritum benutzen. Every once in a while höre ich ein neues Verb, das man im Präteritum benutzt, und hab' noch nie so gehört. It just comes down to exposure and seeing and hearing what people actually use. :)

NEIN! Danke oder Vielen Dank. "Danke" is an incomplete sentence coming from "Ich danke dir", therefore it is a verb. In "Vielen Dank" you have a noun "Dank" (gratitude) not a verb! Therefore NEVER: "Vielen danke".

"Sich etwas merken" rather translates to "keep something in mind". But in english, you can also express that by an imperative remember.
