Wasn't a bad call. Its not the refs job to guess if a fighter is okay to continue. Walid turned his back on the ref, wobbled to the corner, and slumped on the ropes and then ignored the ref as the ref was tapping him on the back asking him to turn around. Good call on the ref and I'd have done the same. Its the fighters job to convince the ref they want to continue and are fine to continue. Walid did none of that.

After that, a ref will check for several signs including gaze/eyes, gait, ability to follow and respond to commands, etc. The problem with Walid is that he turned his back on the ref and ignored all commands. Any ref can't determine is a fighter wants to continue or is okay to continue with their back turned like that. When Deen was knocked down and got up, he faced the ref in all times.

The ref was telling him to face him and turn around during the walk and after he slumped on the ropes. Even tapped him 4 times on the back and Walid failed to turn around. Turning your head halfway is not "facing the ref." The ref looks for more signs than being wobbly....you can be dazed and out of it too which is what Walid looked to be. He looked confused.
