It only takes a moment for even human hand reared chimps to bite your hand off and tear a humans face off. I'd guess that even at his young age he could of easily bit the lips off of your face or snapped a finger off. It seemed irresponsible of the Zoo to allow you such contact even with your past with him. There's a former preserve in S Africa, the Cummings/Cousins family or something close to that whose staff was seriously hurt and killed by their Chimps. Jane Goodall....the queen of chimps warns heavily against such contact.
