When will soaring inflation finally come to an end? Economists weigh what's ahead and provide their valuable insights into what's in store for 2023.
It's the question on the minds of market watchers, economists and consumers alike: When will sky-high prices fall back down to Earth? There are hints that the worst of the U.S.'s bout with inflation may be in the past. Still, some experts are concerned that the historic pace of interest rate hikes from the Fed, aimed at cooling down the hot economy, could spur a recession once the dust settles.
"It's probably going to be lower next year. How much lower is it? We're not quite sure. Inflation can be very hard to predict," Kevin Kliesen, business economist and research officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, told CNBC in an interview.
Watch the video above to find out when experts think high inflation could finally come to an end, and whether the U.S. will need to enter a recession to get there.

Even though I plan to stick with it, inflation is wasting my money and my portfolio is losing gains every day, so I need a cure right away. My main concern is how to raise the value of my cash reserve because it has been lying there for a very long time with little to no increases and inflation is currently about 10%.

Now that the market is in decline, I know what I want to do, but I'm not sure which stocks to buy, which investments would yield the best profits, etc. The potential gain is greater due to the risk, and professionals are better at negotiating such exact contracts.

Indeed, I started investing in 2018 with no prior knowledge or expertise, and by the end of 2019 I had earned a profit of approximately $750k. I had simply been following the guidance provided to me by my financial advisor. This shows that you don't even need to be a great investor or put in a lot of effort; all you actually need is a professional to help you.

It's hard to predict the future until we see this month’s inflation results. However, historical data consistently show that stocks tend to outperform bonds in the long term. Therefore, I'm staying in the market and focusing on selecting high-quality stocks. The challenge lies in identifying these stocks.

Their specialised knowledge, research, and risk management skills make it challenging for them to underperform. They focus on utilising risk for its asymmetrical potential while mitigating downsides. Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire

Consider the economy as one huge engine that produces the life styles that humans live & prosper & create a healthy financially secure future for their families . Corruption, manipulation , creation of unhealthy political policy & diplomatic environments is a recipe for engine failure. People are equally losing money in the financial market in the midst of all these.

The stock won't be making significant increases due to inflation. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to BUY it now, but don't anticipate seeing significant returns for some time. When things start to turn around in all those difficulty spots, I'll buy. Until then, there's just too much upheaval for me.

It is a government inspired crisis this time. The Treasury have to sell Bonds to cover the trade imbalance and the government spending imbalance. In order to sell them they have to raise interest rates and the old long-term, low risk, low interest, AAA investments (including Treasury Bonds), held by the banks (often due to government regulatory policy), become next to worthless. The next milestone is the 15th when the government issue a new batch of Bonds. If the interest goes up too much, this thing snowballs. I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $338k stock portfolio, what’s the best way to take advantage of this bear market?

It makes sense, BTC and crypto is off helping to regulate, rather than pretend it won't ever happen. The big institutions getting in is the catalyst that will launch us into the stratosphere. Most people don't like change but after the change is made they grow used to it and it becomes a non issue usually because their fears never materialize. The projects that initiated the process of regulation have not been ruined, they got involved in setting guidelines and helping the regulators understand the crypto space. I’d get involved more knowing that I have made over 7 btc and 15ETH from day-trade with Liberton Corp in few weeks.

Love the grounded reality of this channel. With what I’ve learned over a decade investing, given enough time, solid investments have the potential to double the initial principal amount, but many investors are instead attracted to the lure of high yields in short periods of time despite the possibility of unattractive losses before even getting out. So the onus is on newbies to beware. Big thanks to LIBERTON CORP.. I own a auto repair shop the costs are absolutely crazy. 55 gal drum of 5w30 blend oil was 340 one year ago now is 622. Front pads and rotors for a 2016 chevy silverado 1500 were 110 bucks 2 years ago and now they are 250 bucks. My labor rate was $90hr January 2022 now it’s $120hr and it has to go up again just to keep up with costs. $30hr higher in one year and I’m not making more money just keeping up. Most customers are smart they understand everything went up and some people complain like I’m ripping them off. One of my customers was shocked at 6k to do his transmission he thought it would be under 3k. He got back to me a few days later and said I’ll be honest with you when you gave me that price I thought you were taking advantage of me because I never complain about price I just tell you to fix it but I called around and you were the same price or cheaper then every other shop, I knew stuff went up in price but I thought maybe like 2800. I said last year it would have been 2800 for sure but now it’s impossible to get parts to rebuild that transmission, all the reman transmissions are on back order it could be 6 months and the junk yards know this so they are charging almost as much for a used transmission that a reman would be, last year ur transmission was 1200 bucks used plus 300 for the extended warranty and now it’s 3500 for used plus 300 for warranty so just the transmission is more then the entire job would be. Same thing goes for engines! Customer came in 6 months ago needing a engine for his 2012 chevy equinox the junkyard wanted 4400 for the used engine, a new/reman from the dealership was 4700 but on back order, last year you could buy a very low mileage engine for this car (it’s just a 4cyl 2.4 eco tech) 2000 bucks and a few years before that they were only 500 bucks. My shop has lost out on prolly 50k worth of work because the junkyards are price gouging people can’t afford 8,000 bucks to replace the engine on their 10 year old car and the car isn’t worth that much any ways.

There will always be some greed but explain in terms of mathematics how corporations can have record sales in volume while prices are up as well. If inflation is not from increasing the money supply, money printing, then how does everyone still have enough money to buy a record amount of goods and services at record high prices? During the pandemic especially when everyone was out of work they were spending record amounts of money causing the store shelves to constantly be bare. If the government was being responsible and actually cared about inflation then we would have had record low spending during that period of record high unemployment. If you only watch mainstream media then you will believe inflation comes from greed but if you learn from people who protect people's assets for a living you will learn how things really work. The source of inflation is money printing, increasing the money supply, which increases demand and wastefulness of goods and services. It's simple basic math.

Back then people were encouraged to help lessen inflation (any one remember Gerald Ford's 'WIN" buttons). These days no one expects people to do a thing to reduce spending.

I come from the 1970s. We suffered rampant inflation for a decade. What's happening now is nothing compared to back then. One or two years of inflation now is no big deal. Of course, prices and the value of the dollar will never come back down to what it was; it doesn't work that way. Things just even out where they are, wages relative to prices, and we go on. That's all. Stop spending if you want to do your part. Stop expecting to buy the latest fashion, the latest phone, the latest car. Make do and don't fall for impulse purchases. Things will shake out pretty soon now. The Fed is doing what needs to be done.

We can thank the governor for dropping the state tax on gas to help fellow Coloradans. On the other hand, food costs are out of hand. Drive what you have and avoid the dealerships at all cost. 6) Stop smoking and stop drinking. 7) Avoid those overly expensive ice cream parlors 8) Skip a holiday trip except visiting family. In other words, the mindset of people has to change. Half the stuff sold in grocery stores is stuff you don't need. You don't need cookies, chocolates, chips, sodas, frozen pizza etc. Stick with the basics for ONCE

I agree to some of what is listed and it's good advice, I follow some of it. The clothing though, my son works for Goodwill and sometimes you can buy new clearance items from Walmart cheaper than used from Goodwill. My son says the pricing is done by taking a picture of the item, searching it through Google Shop app, and then charging a third of the original cost. Walmart sometimes discounts items down to one dollar, you won't see that at Goodwill.
