The thing I don’t really think people understand about all of the land that Disney owns in Florida, is that if that 27,000 acres, only a small part of it is actually useable, if they want to expand, they’re going to need to build over other projects, such as a rumour for a possible next Disney park to build on the site of espn in Orlando

Expect a Horror Unleashed to open in Orlando in some of the buildings between USF and IOA in the next 4 years. It will be a 365 day experience and used as additional houses and scare zones during the HHN season.

Epcot opened 11 years after Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios opened 7 years after Epcot, and Animal Kingdom 9 years after MGM. Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure opened the years after MGM and AK respectively, also 9 years apart from each other. Epic Universe was announced in 2019, had covid delays, and is opening in 2025, only 6 years later. It's hard to say for sure exactly how long before 2019 Epic was being planned for, but doing quick research I found articles from 2017 about Super Nintendo World for Universal Studios Florida with the shift to rumors of it coming to a new park instead in 2018. So if we estimate that 2017 is when Epic began planning, the entire project took 8 years, with covid delays. Yes times have changed and it has been a long time since even the last of the old parks, but I believe people are underestimating how soon Universal could make a 4th park, especially since that space directly to the east of Epic looks like it is already set aside for it (and a possible City Walk South). I believe it's very possible we could see a 4th park in that space within 10 years, 15 years max, unless Epic is deemed a failure.

What would a 4th park even look like? I almost feel like another park, in the way we currently understand them, would be a bit redundant. Another main entrance with 4-5 different lands, rides, shows, dining, etc. I think it would have to be something completely innovative rather than simply improving on previous ideas like Epic is doing. Maybe it would be more of an indoor-oriented park to balance out Epic being largely outdoors? Or a park that is always in flux, having the capability to be retrofitted with new attractions every season. It would really need to be different in every sense.

@@KalebMillansince Universal is just filled with IPs anyway. It would be more IPs. You could do “classic rides” like Kongfrontation, Jaws, Back to the Future. Heck they can even make a themed land the Gladiator movie and build a giant Coliseum lol.

Is the UK park confirmed though? I heard they were waiting to reach a deal with the government to have enough infrastructure around the park to allow accessibility. I would assume if the deal falls through, Orlando would be next.

They will definitely add another ride to the Wizarding Paris side of Epic before starting another park. I'd also expect them to move the construction staging area to the area beside the parking lot to expand a new land between SNW and Monsters. With that said, an announced 4th gate by 2030 is very possible depending on how Epic and their other projects go in UK/Texas. Probably going to hear a lot of announced renovations of IOA and US by the end of this year.

Just for fun, I'd like to see another Universal waterpark. Yes, there are many around the Orlando area, but Disney has two , and I don't see why an updated new waterpark couldn't happen. Yes, Volcano Bay is only eight years old (and used some of the old I Drive Wet 'N' Wild slides). I'd also like to see a CityWalk 2 over near Epic. Pretty sure that's in the cards. Lastly, my gut tells me Epic will get an updated rapids ride of some kind (possible Amazonia?) for one of their expansion plots within 2 years after opening. I don't have rumors or sources to support this, but it's just a random feeling. Will be fun to see what happens in the coming years. Fun fact, the former Opryland USA was 120 acres.

This is really interesting to hear an idea of a possible 4th park opening. I think Universal needs to hear feedback first regardless (I'm sure Epic is going to be amazing) but imagine if they opened Epic Universe during the screen ride era lol. A whole park with screens.

@@capthemagic look the screen era was bad, but I really fear they will completely leave it. There are amazing rides they can pull off with this dark ride/ coaster screen rides yk? they shouldn't go away completely from it and I'm kind of afraid they might.

The coaster from Super Silly Fun Land would perfectly complete minions land. Other hopeful rides/areas would be a fast n furious trackless dark ride where supercharged is now, a legend of zelda indoor family coaster and live cgi show (like bourne) in lost continent, Pokemon Land in marvel land. This one's a little out of nowhere but they could replace the whole back end of studios to stranger things (or netflix in general), building a new ride building where fear factor is, retheming MIB to stranger things, and simpsons land becomes the fair. If netflix in general, stranger things should still be in MIB, Squid Game should take over fear factor, and Simpsons land should become Love Death and Robots.

I think if universe decides to do another park it probably wouldn't open until at least 2040. Epic Universe should see at least 2-3 new expabsions since then as well as universal studios overhaul. And a few more upgrades at IoA as well.

My bet is 10 - 15 years if a 4th park is needed. Universal like Disney needs to improved the quality of the experiences at their non-flagship parks. With the addition of Epic, Universal could take the number two and three spots for best parks to visit in Orlando. Universal needs to still improve and create visitor interest to the older 2 parks and beyond Florida, Universal will be entering into the European market along with new experiences in the Texas and Las Vegas. Does Universal really need a 4th gate? I question if Disney is even maintaining the 4 gates they have when there are peopling calling for a 5th or 3rd gate in California. Lots of moving parts, but a longer experience at Universal and we may just see more people planning their Orlando vacation with a focus on the Universal than the main focus on Disney. Disney will not have a captive audience if they are staying off property. How much theme park growth is feasible? Interesting times for sure - but what if the Texas park is a trial balloon for Universal to establish another entertainment hub within the US. Or are all of these satellite Universal properties meant to focus attention to a greater week long experience in Orlando at these 3 or 4 parks.

I think a Nintendo land focusing on Zelda, a land dealing with Oz/Wicked (which might even serve as a central hub), Lord of the Rings, something from DreamWorks, and another horror-related land (perhaps Stranger Things?) would make up the five lands.

I know the lands gone to crap, but U Creative could pull in a JK Rowling type mind plus whoever did Breath of the wild (or another great world builder) and brainstorm something amazing for a whole park.

Universal needs to fix and finish replacing the rides they have closed as is. Plus, they have Simpsons licensing and possibly Marvel coming up? That could mean a major reshaping of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. That said, I love the competition pushing both Disney and Universal to greater heights.
