Me and my friend friend played the Elder Scroll games since Arena. Watching this video is sad because he won't be able to play Elder Scrolls 6 as he's passed away. Sad that he died young, the ES series was his go to game to chill and relax.

Sometimes I wish I could erase a part of my brain so I can replay Morrowind for the first time. That game changed my life in 2002 like no game has ever since
@mesektet57767 ай бұрын
It’s not that you should feel bad about sticking with one game, It’s that the series changes wildly from release to release and part of the fun is that tonal and mechanics shift. Part of what makes Morrowind amazing is knowing what bare bones mechanics Daggerfall made due with. Part of what makes Oblivion special is knowing how cliche it looks compared to Morrowind, but how intentionally absurd it is just under the surface. Skyrim’s environmental storytelling is easy to take for granted if you didn’t see what the previous ones were getting by with.

I'd give a lot to go back to the days where I'd come home from school and boot up my rickety old PC and play Morrowind or Oblivion with no idea what I was doing, where I was going, but everything was an adventure to be had. I still love the older titles but they will never have as much charm as they once had. Nor will the feeling of wonder return as it was anymore. It honestly makes me sad.

Never really played the Elder Scrolls games or RPGs in general. Had a run with Final Fntasty Tactics and a few other decent world and lore kinda RPGs back then. Finally decided to fry skyrim this year (didnt really even look at it since 2011 because... well its an RPG, and even back then even though I saw how good it is it was never enough for me to try it, but all these years later it finally is (with the additiin of combat mods and dlcs of course). Maybe one day Ill try some of that sweet Morrowind and Oblivion. Whenever Id consider playing something like Skyrim back then I'd really be like 'eh' even morrowind and daggerfall seems more than that. But that was my old classic bias talking, even now Id say warcraft reforged was crap because the graphics back then were better (which is kinda true), but i did say the same for dota 2 and LoL when it upgraded its engine back then. Im a huge sucker for lore, being a lover of history and all that, so I got into warhammer, tolkien, and a lot of other smaller worlds and fiction (hell i even got into the beholder series back when the site was still alive). I guess the only thing keeping me from elder scrolls (skyrim in particular) was the combat and sort of emptiness seen in wasteland games like stalker or fallout. But the more lore I consumed, the less there was in the world, so with mods I broke through whatever wall was holding me from trying skyrim, and now I do feel like playing morrowind and oblivion too. (Especially since I really really wanted to play morrowind back then, I liked the graphical style but never the combat among other quality of life thingies). but I guess thats RPGs for me, they arent grindy at all when youre exploring the world and lore about. Or maybe Im just getting older, and dont really play fighting games or strategy games anymore, so Im on the period of chilling and enjoying RPGs with nice lore like Elder Scrolls. Time to read C0da when I got the time

A number of years ago, I gave a friend a copy of Skyrim for his birthday, his first ES game. We all joked that it would be the last we will see of him. Two years later, I got him Oblivion and been hounding him ever since to give it ago. That has been going on for at least 5 years, he still hasn't touched it.

I remember the first time I ever played Elder Scrolls. It was after high school and I was introduced to Oblivion by my roommate. I've played games before, but this shit touched my soul in places I didn't know exist. Skyrim was not as good as I expected it to be, but its release still coincided with a major part of my life, such as getting my first paying job. Now, with a literal fuckung war going on in my country, with my personal life being a hot mess, where do I go a couple of evenings every week? You're right, my good sir. I think its finally time to try Morrowind I've been sleeping on for so long. Vid is amazing.

With Morrowind you can just download and run OpenMW, comes with built in FOV slider, massive performance improvements, ways to customise the game mechanics slightly and graphics are majorly improved, then adding a texture mod or something will make it even better and doing that is easy. Don't shy away from it. Morrowind is absolutely an amazing game.

All Elder Scrolls games should be played at least once. My first game was Oblivion, but Skyrim somehow felt, idk, smoother I guess or something and I played that more intently at the time. Still, it’s the Elder Scrolls. The whole franchise deserves the honor of being played, or, well, whatever you can access. It’s hard to find stories like that of the Hero of Dawnstar.
