I think he understands that drifting simulated the exact scenario you’d be in that they’re training for: losing control of the car in conditions where there’s minimal traction. By him drifting he’s showing he’s mastered the concept of handling the car in these conditions so the instructor isn’t worried he just doesn’t want him to freak out or hit other drivers who are still entry level. I’d like to think part of the course includes him demonstrating drift like maneuvers anyway so this would just be the equivalent of an honors student in your class

I did this in drivers ed in highschool during winter its why i failed that class actually but we had a course and there's a spot to enter and a spot ot exit the course that leads back to the beginning and once i exited i swerved a wheel a little ti the right then the left to swung my back end out then my countersteering took over my teacher said that was really cool but was it worth it bc you failed my class, i looked at him and said "yea"😂 (i had experience dirfting bc my brother taught me a lil at 16 so i already knew how to drive well by 17 mainly just cluntersteering and control till this day i still drift here n there use to have to take it slow but now in winter ive managed to hit drifts at 15+ miles with lining up fishtails. Not the best at lining up fishtails

Although there is a learning curve its a lie if someone can say you can learn to drift without crashing but crashing or tapping walls is apart of that learning curve but you can always buy a 300 dollar beater and drift it till its the engine done make sure it's rwd donuts are more fun then reverse donuts

I learned drifting in the Mitsubishi L200, during my military driving school in the Austrian Armed Forces. I didnt have any license and it was basically civilians driving school but with additional off road driving classes and more in depth theory about the vehicle itself.
