When you FAIL to take care of your Monstera Adansonii!

Those leaves did not die off because of too much sun. They were all older leaves and dying off is a natural thing to expect, especially when propagating. The plant is essentially taking energy and nutrients from the older leaves and using it to generate new root and leaf growth instead

At least you tried! I was lucky and found 2 adansonii’s at Wilko reduced to 50p each and they are healthy! Took me a year to get them in a decent condition

I have a few tips! When you first get your monstera (or any plant for the matter) never repot it right away even if its root-bound, the monstera was doing fairly well when you first got it, it might have gotten to much sun, crisp, dry and brown leaves are a sign of way to much light, while monsteras absolutely love light, some can be to much, when you get your next monstera you can keep it in soil (that will be our next topic lol) but make sure that even if it looks like it’s thriving, rotate it, every leave deserves light! I’ve learned from experience, monsteras CAN live in water, but living does not mean thriving or even happy, the yellowing leaves were a sign of overwatering, monstera loves drying out between watering so soil is pretty much a must!

Yes, very little direct Sun… also, your water may have too many chemicals in it. If you set your water in an open jar over night (24 hours) you’ll evaporate most chemicals found in tap water. I had my addi in the window (since may) and he’s the thickest biggest clump of happiness I never thought I’d have. He was only a tiny 8 leaves when I got him. He’s bigger than my head and getting repotted today!!!!!!
