I rarely root in water. My standby rooting method is moss. It reduces transplant shock.

I put a pothos cutting with my monstera cutting and it rooted quickly in water. I will try the moss though.

Continue this experiment to day 150 so we can know the outcome in water more , i think not drowning the middle part and covering lid for high humidity may result in diffrent outcome!

Thank you for the suggestion, I might made another video to show the progress of the propagation in water. Subscribe and stay tuned. I left the lid of plastic container open a little bit , so the cutting on moss gets some air flow. The node is where the sprout come out from, should be in the water to keep it moist. I don't know if we can cover the jar as the cutting needs some air flow when sitting in the water. However if you saw successful propagation with water in closed container, I'll be happy to discuss with you.

I did cut some nodes of monstra, money plant and lucky bamboo and Lucky bamboo new freshly cut plant from new nodes and use three medium to grow soil, water and sand out of which some with with lid some without. I observe the following results in like 1.5 month 1. All plant show almost same result with close lid in wet sand and water. And with soil show slow result. 2. all plants either in water or sand closing lid show best result than same plants in water or sand without lid. 3. Lucky bamboo in soil show good result with lid, water have good roots in it but soil have good over all plant health.

@@mehkzkhem Thank you for sharing! I'm surprised to know that plants can grow with water in closed container. I thought it's not possible before. I will keep that in mind and try this method in the future. Thanks again!

There is update in my followup experiments, some of the samples in water are rotting which is big "no" for propagation, its risky for Some precious plants type . I did new experiment with monstera and money plant steam cut samples like some 2/3 cm to some 9/10 cm and whole plants with steam like 30 cm to 50 cm long but with few leaves and no roots all of them attached to moss stick made of cotton threads and wrapped with thin transparent plastic wrapper. These sample gave best results for me better than any other method, both plant look healthy and long roots. This seems same as your closed lid experiment

@@mehkzkhem Thank you for letting me know the updates! That's helpful for me. I think it's important to keep proper air flow and humidity when propagate plants, that's probably the reason why moss stick and plastic wrap work so well.

It is a long process, but It's good to see them rooted in water so I can make sure they are doing fine.

It's a single node, thought it needs time for gathering energy to root. I just can't throw away any plants that's still have life in it🙂
